Anyone think if Yanks can get a big return they should trade betances also?

damn good question, the Q of the Day indeed....

shit, to be honest, at first I'd say I don't know....

but, if the returns are a bit beyond equivalent, why not...?

Said from day one that 95% of all GM's in sports are morons. Proved again by baseball this year. Can't believe how moron GM's are overvaluing relievers. You never give up a future star, every day player for a reliever who might pitch 3 times a week on a good week. Yanks have been brilliant here. I've gone on record as saying Cashman is one of the worst GM's in baseball. Well, he's totally redeemed himself here. He has been off the charts good with these deals. Almost all these pitchers coming out throw 92 to 96 now. You can find top relievers much easier than top position players or top starters.

...the GMs who are over-valuing relievers are the GMs of teams that need relievers the most, especially closers.

...so "value" is relative to a team's needs.

Yeppers

the best I could do for a nodding head....

Mattingly, I was listening to w-fan morning show and they had a scout on that was familiar with the indian players and he said heller projects to a 7th, 8th inning guy and throws 98mph and feyereisen projects also to 7th and maybe 8th inning set up guy and throws 95. I wonder if their not listed in mlb top 100 because they are relievers. They sound like they both have big time arms for the bullpen.

Saw an ESPN interview with a guy familiar with Frazier.
Mentioned his excellent "bat speed" and how he plays like his hair is on fire.
The kid has long red hair and has already tweeted it's time for a haircut, lol.
Good speed and power and can play all outfield positions.
Sounds like a good package to start with. It appears as if Frazier is the main attraction.
When I first heard about the trade there was no mention of a second reliever being included which could also be an attempt by the Yanks to rebuild the pen around Betances.

Ben Heller and J P Feyereisen have both been low-hit, high K relievers in a couple yrs in the minors.

Heller 172.1 IP, 2.77 ERA / 1.10 WHIP / 6.4 H per 9 IP / 11.8 K per 9 IP
Feyereisen 105 IP, 1.80 ERA / 1.01 WHIP / 5.9 H per 9 IP / 11.7 K per 9 IP

Justus Sheffield was also obtained by Yanks in this trade.
20 year old LH SP.....
And looking at his stats thus far, his best "stats" seem to be:
20 years old and Lefthanded.

Was out doing yard work this AM came back to see all this activity and am one happy fan. Keep up the good trades and make us Yankee Fans think we have a future instead of adding over the hill has beens on a yearly basis. In addition to acquire new pieces pay Tex and A-rodham and tell them to enjoy their generous severance packages.

...my feelings about ARod are well known, but I'm also tired of watching Tex defiantly refusing to hit to the opposite field vs the shift...even with the Yanx down by 4 runs and nobody on base Tex refuses to take what the other team gives him and still tries to pull everything.

...very frustrating to watch time after time.

that is IF he makes contact...

watching Tex and #13 swat at thin air, is beyond endurable and patience...

in other words, when either is at bat, that's a good time to grab a cold one, make a sammich..."say a prayer for the pretender(s)"...
