He's smart if he signed with toronto. More opportunity imo. I think we are pot committed with Leonard, vonleh and Davis at pf

It just seems like everyone is just repeating what that one reporter tweeted.

Toronto has one roster spot left and can only offer a minimum deal.

Minny waived him because that first pick contract is ridiculous for his current talent level. Not a chance anybody was going to claim him off of waivers. I think we have a strong chance of landing him. He could end up going to a more promising team, but I think it would be a huge career mistake, possibly career suicide. He needs to go somewhere where he can trust that his best interests are the teams as well. I heard Toronto, makes sense because he's from Canada, that's the only reason it makes sense though. However I think there is a decent chance that he ends up buried on the bench no matter where he goes, so there's that.

He must be really desperate to play in Toronto because a minimum contract is nothing.

He will be able to get more than the $1,015,696 he would get on a minimum contract (if he wants). But I bet he won't get much more than 2-2.5 million.

That dude needs to get as much money as he can. If he doesn't produce soon, he will quickly find himself out on his butt.

Yep. If I'm Bennett and a team is going to pay me $2.5 and give me 10-15+ a game then I am signing the contract with little to no hesitation.

I don't know why he thinks he's going to get PT in Toronto. They're trying to make the playoffs.

Apparently the person he called out instead of giving said person a name that compared 14 PER Leonar_ to one of the greatest players in history.

Hey, he never said Larry Bird at a specific age. Maybe he meant current Larry Bird?

Maybe Larry Bird 10 years from now would be better.

Joking aside, Meyers will never be Bird, but my hope is that he will be some kind of cross between Tom Chambers and Bill Laimbeer. If Leonard can learn to get physical without fouling out, and maintains his shooting touch, and utilizes his already decent passing, he could be a very good player--maybe even a great one.

How many game winning threes did Bird let fly and not even watch them go in, because he knew they were going in?

He doesn't have Laimbeer's disposition. The closest would be Stephen Adams.

I'll settle for a better-rebounding Channing Frye.

As long as Meyers and Mason are better than Michael Doleac...we'll be fine
