Preseason lol

"You don't get too carried away with it"

But Kingspeed does!

I'm new here... so can someone explain to me whether or not this is serious, or is this some running joke I'm not yet purview to?
KingSpeed is our head cheer leader. Hang around. It will all eventually make some sort of twisted sense....

That pre-season ass-whoopin' was the wake-up call the Warriors needed to spur them to their winning streak!

You're welcome, dumbnation!

Welcome Dan! I can only explain it one way... you've got a lot of catching up to do.

Kingspeed is the resident super homer, but if we lose a game he might tell you that the "season is over." So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Mismatch might be a bit strong. However, I think we do have lineups that can present problems for them, maybe more than the average team. If the rotation Blazers all play 90-100% we could win.

The biggest challenge I see is how to guard Curry. You can't use Aminu because then you get torched by Green. If Dame and CJ can play better than average defense, Dame, CJ and Meyers rain down 3s, and the supporting cast contributes then there is a good chance. That is a lot to wish for though.

I love you Eric!!! :) Im flipping back to wanting to make the playoffs again now, because of you!!!

Fuck the draft!!!

Isn't enough that the season is a train wreck? Do we really need this trolling/taunting?

Hey Dan,

Blazers have a myriad of fans with a wide spectrum of beliefs. Some of us more homer types believe with thick rimmed glasses that we are better than our current record. Some of us may be wrong in that. Some of us think that we are worse than our record and they may be wrong.

Check the win prediction thread and see how wide of a spread us members have the blazers. Some say 40-50 wins, some say 10-20 and many are in between.

This thread is NOT a joke because it was created by one of the most die hard fans I know of and he does NOT mess around with the positive mentality he has for the Blazers and I love him for that!!!. :)

Nope. Im firmly in the Kingspeed Camp!!
Hey man, when you gonna head over and lay down some beats?
Thanks man. In all seriousness, we're going to kill the Warriors tonight. It really sucks for them though. We are their kryptonite. In 2006-07 season, the Mavs started the season 0-4 and then won 67 of their next 78 games, as dominant as this year's Warriors have been. But the Mavs lost in the first round (to the Warriors) because that 8 seed had their number. We have the Warriors' number. I could see Golden State throwing games at the end of the year to make sure they don't face us in the first round.

Now THAT would be something!!! To watch the defending champs actively lay down because they fear us??? As much as I agree with you that we do match up very well against them compared to say... Memphis... I dont think they feel the same. I think ... Other than dumbass troller... most of GS would be ... Blazers who? But that right there might be the icing on the cake we need to take them out in the first round!

We destroyed Memphis earlier this year. I don't fear them either.

Believe harder:

The game occurred nearly 24 years ago, yet Larry Bird painfully recalls every detail. "I can remember that game like it was yesterday," said the Pacers' president of basketball operations.

The game -- Trail Blazers at Celtics, Dec. 6, 1985 -- was the lone blemish on an otherwise impeccable home record for the Celtics, a streak that stretched all the way through the postseason. The Celtics finished the regular season 40-1 at home and, counting their run through the postseason, were an astounding 50-1 in home games.

The one still haunts Bill Walton.

"This was not a lucky break at the end of the game," Walton said. "They took it to us. We were not ready. We paid the price. And I'm still suffering the consequences, 24 years later."

Blazers 121, Celtics 103
...
And the Blazers schooled what is arguably the greatest team in NBA history?

"The Celtics proved they were human that night," said Clyde Drexler, who was just in his third season with the Blazers in '85-86. "They didn't take us seriously."
