It's on in the East Coast right now and it's a fabulous train wreck. I highly recommend watching the talent portion in the second hour. So bad. One girl was under pitch her entire song. Another performed a self written monologue about having cancer. Unbelievable.

They didn't have it but they might as well have. There was nothing different about the competition or the competitors otherwise.

Surprisingly, my wife enjoys beauty pageants a whole lot more than me.

I wonder if that just means that the people who run the Miss NY pageant are more closely aligned philosophically with the people who run Miss America; like, there maybe would be ladies from other states who would have beaten the NY contestant, but they didn't win their own state because those pageants are run by people with different ideals.

Just a thought.

I find it hilarious that a female beauty pageant refuses to include the other sex but dropped a swimsuit contest due to sexism.

Who wouldn't? Sure beats listening to a gaggle of no-talent Debutantes drone on about "world issues".

I'd like to see All Americans in swimsuits.

All at the same time, across the nation.

A sign of financial comfort/security, personal health/safety, and individual freedom/happiness.
