Ghost of PGA,
Don't waste time with smug name callers. If they could defend their opinions, they would. The hate and name calling proves how weak their agendas are.

If you watched that SOTU and thought it was a great speech, and don’t see the hypocrisy, the lies, the pandering, the slurring of words and inability to enunciate simple words.

Meet the 2020 State of the Union Guests

Special Guests for President Trump’s 3rd State of the Union Address
February 4, 2020
Below are the special guests who will join President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tonight for the President’s third State of the Union.
  • From brave military families to hardworking local leaders, this year’s guests come from many walks of life. Each one represents the very best of America and people the world over.

Meet the special guests for President Trump’s State of the Union:

Stephanie and Janiyah Davis from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Janiyah is a 4th grade student from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She loves art and math, but for too long she has been assigned to low-performing schools. Her mom, Stephanie, is a hardworking single mother who tried to apply for a tax credit scholarship. But due to Pennsylvania’s governor recently vetoing school choice legislation, Janiyah remained among the estimated 50,000 students on a waitlist.

    F20200203AH-0067-820x656.jpg

Kelli and Gage Hake from Stillwater, Oklahoma: Kelli Hake was at home with her 1-year-old son, Gage, when she learned that her husband, Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Hake, had been killed while serving his second tour of duty in Iraq. While on patrol, Staff Sergeant Hake’s fighting vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb supplied by Iranian terrorist leader Qasem Soleimani. Kelli and Gage directly suffered from Soleimani’s campaign to kill and maim U.S. service members. Last month, President Trump ordered the killing of Soleimani while he was once again trying to initiate attacks on American service members.

    P20200204KB-0015-820x656.jpg

Jody Jones from Farmersville, California: On December 17, 2018, Jody’s brother, Rocky Jones, was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant in Tulare County, California. The criminal alien who committed this brutal murder had previously been arrested for violent crimes and had twice been deported. The criminal alien was arrested in December 2018 for the sixth time, but because of California’s sanctuary state policy, he was released from jail. A few days later, he went on a 24-hour “reign of terror,” injuring several people, robbing a gas station, leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase, and killing 51-year old Rocky, who was known as a kind and gentle soul. Rocky leaves behind a precious daughter and 4 brothers.

    F20200203AH-0135-820x656.jpg

Paul Morrow from Montgomery, Alabama: Paul is a United States Army veteran. After leaving the military, Morrow started a successful contracting business and today is building a new concrete plant in an Opportunity Zone in Montgomery, Alabama. This new plant will help support several brand new F-35 jets that are stationed in the region.

    F20200203AH-0212-820x656.jpg

Deputy Chief Raul Ortiz from Del Rio, Texas: Deputy Chief Ortiz has helped protect America’s homeland for nearly three decades. Prior to joining U.S. Border Patrol in 1991, Ortiz served in the United States Army. In 2019, he became Chief Patrol Agent of the Del Rio Sector, which made him responsible for all Border Patrol operations in 41 Texas counties—including 210 miles of border between the United States and Mexico. Recently, Ortiz was promoted to Deputy Chief of U.S. Border Patrol, the second in command for more than 20,000 agents and professional staff. His awards include the Superior Civilian Service Medal, among the Department of Defense’s highest civilian honors.

    F20200203AH-0222-820x656.jpg

Tony Rankins from Cincinnati, Ohio: After serving in the United States Army in Afghanistan, Tony Rankins suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and became addicted to drugs. He lost his job and his family, served several prison sentences, and ended up living out of his car. A company called “R Investments” helped train Tony in carpentry, painting, brick work, and other construction trades. Today, he works in an Opportunity Zone in Cincinnati, Ohio, and his new job has helped him overcome drug addiction and reunite with his family.

    F20200203AH-0201-820x656.jpg

Robin and Ellie Schneider from Kansas City, Missouri: Ellie was born at just 21 weeks and six days. She is one of the youngest babies to survive in the United States. With the help of an incredible medical team—and the prayers of her parents and their community—Ellie kept beating the odds, exceeding milestones, and fighting for life. Today, Ellie is a happy, healthy 2-year-old girl who brings endless joy to her mother, Robin, and her entire family.

Ivan Simonovis from Caracas, Venezuela: Ivan was the Chief of Police in Venezuela’s capital city and esteemed as the nation’s top cop. He was imprisoned in 2004 for protecting protesters and was held in captivity for nearly 15 years by the Chavez and Maduro regimes. He escaped from Venezuela in 2019 and was brought to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where immigration agents welcomed him to the United States.
There are only 30 Blacks in America that support Trump and he's presenting four of them right here.

Wow.

Petulant Pelosi just tore up a copy of the POTUS's speech behind his back as he received his 80th standing ovation after 139 pauses for applause.

Behavior of a third-grader who didn't get her way. In front of the nation, her employers.
It was because Trump displayed the unbelievably rude behavior of very noticeably ignoring her attempt at a handshake. No person with what my wife calls a quality home education ignores an attempt by another to shake your hand. Yet another example of Trump's complete lack of a moral compass.

Trump targeted dumb people. Smart move. There are a lot of them. He keeps bringing them in, he’s in good shape. Warren et al are trying to appeal to the smarter, educated group. Massive amount of America fits Trumps target audience.
<facepalm>

That was the most Fucking pathetic SOTU speech I’ve seen. Embarrassing how these old white guys all kiss his ass. No pride. Just awful. Limbaugh. Haha. What a clown show.

imo, both acts were disrespectful and immature. If two parties cannot at least try and demonstrate to the youth of this country what it means to be respectful and not hateful, there is no moral compass for either side, and as the youth of this country our standing back observing the two party hate and actions I worry about the future of this Country because it sure isn't what I grew up with anymore.
We have dysfunctional political system. Needs to be fixed.

Now that is rich and almost as hilarious as trumps wife being an advocate against cyber bullies while her husband is one of the worst cyber bullies to come along just as he is the worst president we have ever had when it comes to "smug name calling". You can't make this stuff up. :biglaugh:

Starts at the top hg. As long as trump continues to use personal attacks and childish name calling whenever he describes a democratic politician, there will be no unity.

So I listened to about the first 20 minutes of the SOTU last night while I was waiting to pick my brother up from school, and my only real take away from it was:

"Ok. So now I understand what it's like to attend one of the Trump 2020 Campaign rallies."

The youth gave up on the boomers a long time ago. Its hard to respect a generation that mocks them as snowflakes who needs a safe space and avocado toast, then demand respect all while destroying the planet and creating an economy that is unlivable for them.

So then how do you teach elementary kids to act and deal with issues? Do you teach them to disrespect boomers because you have an issue with them?
I have grandkids and kids that I try and coach to be respectful of others opinions and always try and find some common ground.

I agree, but both sides have a top.
And its up to each individual to conduct himself with respect of others regardless. Part of the problem is people are to focussed on what others think and allow themselves to get confrontational.

How many elementary kids do you know who pay attention to the state of the union address? What they do listen to is their parents saying things like "look at racist grandpa making an idiot of himself all over facebook again".

I agree with what they are exposed to but not just grandpa, but dad and /or mom and how they conduct themselves.

where do you start? At the top. It's never going to be perfect, but it's also never been this bad before either. Get rid of the problem and it immediately improves.

I agree get rid of Trump and it changes but Im not all that optimistic that it changes that much as the parties cant stand one another and the media loves it as it creates the frenzy that people seem to like.

You get rid of a cult leader and things are bound to improve. The republicans are like a zombie cult group that bows down to all things trump as if they are afraid to go against him. Does he have compromising pictures on all of them or they just a bunch of cowardly spineless sheep, but they are the only ones that can really do anything before the election. Get rid of Moscow Mitch as the majority leader as well. Watch how much things will improve.

Spineless sheep is your answer

There are cults with both sides those that follow trump and those that follow radical progressives that want things their way to, both trouble makers.
There needs to be an emergence of a centrist moderate group that out numbers both to get some compromise and respect going again. So who do you like to beat out Trump?

I heard James Carvel last night on MSNBC say he dems need to decide if they want to be an Ideological Cult and follow the extreme left or guard the Party with power.

It was reality TV with no reality.

Trump said he inherited a weak economy. He inherited a strong economy. He claimed greatest ever job growth. There were 1.5 million more new jobs created in the last year of the Obama administration than all three years of Trump administration combined.

He said he is protecting people with pre-existing conditions. His administration has a case before the Supreme Court trying to get the court to declare unconstitutional the requirement that insurance companies not discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. They asked the court to wait until after the election to hear the case. Normally if you think something is unconstitutional you don't ask the court to wait 10 months to decide, unless you are afraid of elctoral consequences.

He ostentatiously brought one soldier home to cover for the fact that he has increased troop presence in the Middle East. While a large number of troops are people of color, increasing numbers are women, and gays can still serve openly he made sure the soldier was white, male, and straight and I am sure they vetted him to be certain he's a Trump supporter. He claimed support for the troops but ridiculed 60 soldiers with traumatic brain injury as having "headaches". I guess he likes people who were not injured. He took credit for ISIS setback after screaming at the generals they were losers and babies.

He lied about immigrants and attacked women's rights because that is in his DNA.

The Medal of Freedom used to be prestigious; now it's given out to his supporters and donors regardless of merit. He awarded the Medal of Freedom to racist, misogynist, divisive Limbaugh and had his submissive female appendage hang the medal on him because she cares so much about bullying.

He extolled freedom of religion, while extending the Muslim ban to five new countries, including Myanmar, where Muslims face horrific persecution.

He had the gall to mention Harriet Tubman after his administration blocked having Tubman on US currency. Bet bottom dollar he has no idea who Harriet Tubman was and even less who the Tuskegee Airmen were (one person who could school him on that: Rasheed Wallace. Serious.)

He claimed right to life for fetuses but no one must EVER restrict guns.

As John Lennon said, nothing is real, nothing to get hung about.

I admire that you are still able to write posts that show...patience. Because I am out of it. I’m so disgusted by anyone who can follow this idiot, it’s hard for me to sit down and try to “sell people”. It’s useless.
