If they start at 7, then it's a 10PM start for people in Detroit to watch their team?whats up with 4:30 starts in a PST game???

Actually, the games all start at 5pm PDT, not 4:30. Or to be more correct, like 5:08.
All of the games have the same start time. MLB basically picked a time that (supposedly) works best to balance the East and West time zones to maximize exposure/ratings.
Plus, it makes a great reason for me to leave the office at 4!

correct.... and A game starting at 7:00 on the east coast is a 4:00 game for the west coast fans.
Correct. Maybe they figure it's easier for people to get off work early and watch a whole game than it is to have a game start at 10, and not get over until 1 in the morning, however. And also, starting at 8, it'd start at 5 here.

too late.. Blazinggiants already helped me with where I was off... much less sarcasm too. Thanks for the help though![]()
sorry, wasn't meaning to be sarcastic, or snarky with the original answer. Was just assuming they start it early so it's not super late for the entire TV audience.
my bad and I apolgize for the assumption. The 5:00 totally makes sense. I just thought the start was actually at 4:30 which seemed random and odd being so close to 5:00.
Again sorry for the A-Hole response.
weird. I figured it was pre game stuff, but I coulda swore when I turned on the game at like 5:20 or so that it was in the 3rd inning. musta just been off when I figured the math in my head
thanks !
Gotcha, Apologies, I initially thought you were asking more like why don't they start it much later, like they do in the regular season, at 7, instead of at 5.

Nah, it started like right at 5:08. Left work at 5:15. Panda hit #1 at 5:24.
#2 came at like 6:15.
I can tell all of this (give or take a couple of minutes) based on the watching the time on my computer at work while watching the game. Then, based on various phone calls/texts.
thanks for setting me straight.yeah maybe my DVR was behind or something and I just took it as Livethanks for setting me straight.
Shit that's my job. You a Giants fan?
) but I kinda drifted away from Baseball probably to get at my dad in my rebellious early teens lol. The last couple years (Since I've gotten DVR and can watch games at my leisure) I have been watching more and more. I do enjoy NL ball quite a bit more though. (Dodgers, Giants, Cards, etc) AL Ball kinda bores me though.. except for Texas I have enjoyed watching their team play on their current run.is this where I pull a Maris and talk about how Neanderthal soccer fans are compared to Baseball fans?![]()

I saw on twitter this weekend people thanking Paulsen for letting them drink out of the Cascadia Cup.
Lame, so very hipster Portland lame.![]()
