OT Moderating content doesn’t have to be so traumatic

I understand everything you guys are saying and disagree with how its handled here.

There are many other ways to handle rather than an opinion based mod deleting things.

How about a flag system?

So many members flag a post and then it is determined a certain percentage of posters don't agree with the post and when it hits a certain percentage then it is deleted?

Then the mods don't have to scour the boards for violations. The members make the mods aware by flagging posts.

There are many other ways that being a dictator type site and just deleting without any option for the public to see what was going on.


And i'm not whining about the mods. The mods whine about the work the have to do(this thread?????????), so i'm providing options and letting them know its their own rules that create the work . Call that whining if you want, I don't give a shit. I stand by my opinion.

There -is- a flag system. WE -do- use it. We have MULTIPLE pm's about ALL that goes on here. We -HAVE- had MULTIPLE threads asking for YOUR input.

Don't bash us for doing exactly what you're asking, then get mad that we're doing exactly what you're asking.

I dont like a flag system. You end up with only the popular opinions being here because people just flag everything they dont like.

I think the mods here do a good job 99% of the time too.

Everywhere has free speech, even this site. Your free to say whatever you want, but if its against the rules, then your speech has consequences. What you want is free speech without consequences which doesnt exist anywhere. Not America, Not on the internet, its not reality.

In order to keep order about the site moderators are here to facilitate and keep things civil, so discussions can move forward.

Most of the time that Ive seen anyways the moderators of this site arent surpressing ideas, and philophies which was then premise of “free speech”, their moderating people bickering and derailing threads that have thrned into insult fests.
