I told you that the vibe I was getting from that pick was that Neil didn't like anyone available and just took the next guy on his draft board. Neil usually has a target or a sleeper and I think due to the lack of scouting opportunities and possibly some guys going earlier than he thought or this just being as shitty of a draft class as many in the media had said, Neil had very little interest in this draft. That's probably very frustrating for Neil because the draft is his thing and he may feel like his thing was taken from him this year.
I thought he seemed that Elleby was a versatile player with college stats. Im sure he was just involved with this guy as he was Trent or any other 2nd except no personal workout, but I dont think all second rounders do.

Olshey prob hates Quick because he’s been critical about CJ in the past.

The fact that Jackson still doesn't have a home for next season makes me question his value....
I remember when Jackson was new in the league he was complaining about not starting. I remember thinking he didn't deserve to and saying that probably meant he wasn't a good locker room guy. He's never looked like he enjoyed the game which could rub people the wrong way.

There are certain matchups where Kanter can really contribute - but the Blazers will be a better team if Collins is the one who earns those minutes.
He had one freakin arm bro? Even Meyers was better than that yes.

Prolly not a popular opinion but I want Dame playing no more than 34 mpg. Save him for the playoffs. Hard to believe hes in yr 9.
I usually think 35-36 so i'm down with 34 if it's at all possible.

Trent jr has played 1443 minutes in the NBA (bout same as Giles), Zach has played over 2700. I WISH Zach has shown me something like Gary has, I hope he does. Harry will likely get some decent minutes before Zach gets back in later Jan, lets see what he can show us
Way different types of players.

Yeah i wonder those kinds of things also. If Jackson is such a great back up PG why ain't he on a team yet?

If that were the case, then why not sign CJ to a 2-way contract? I think that would've been a better route to go into the season with.

I think all can agree that this HAS to be the Year of the Ant.

Very excited to see Covington out on the floor with our guys. Going to bring that Mo Harmless type of defensive tenacity!

All I can ever think about when I see Moe's name is Kanye West's song "Heartless" because I just like putting Moe's name in there instead of the title phrase. My version is "How could you be Moe Harkless?"

Neil is stil extremely high on Simons, i mean i understand the you only want to talk good stuff about "your draftees" but c'mon dude, Neil has to stop to overvalue his guys at a certain stage because it's sounds stupid and implausible. Ant does have very high potential, but he needs to show on the court first and then he can hype him up

I have a real issue with playing Giles over assets that could potentially be here long term. We only signed the guy one year, so we have zero bird rights for him. What is the incentive to play him and boost his value if he's just going to leave at the end of the year? I totally understand playing him if people are injured or foul trouble, etc, but I'm really not seeing the point of developing someone that won't be here long term.
Totally disagree.

They can resign Giles for the MLE or such if he plays well. Thats the problem for the offseason. Terry job is to win games now. If we worry about developing guys who aren't deserving you get crap like Simons last year or 4 years of Meyers.

The coaches job is to put players on the floor to win.

The GM job is longer term and can consider what you talk about with roster construction. That time is over.

Development doesn't work like that. Giles might look better immediately, but Collins might be better come playoff time if he gets the reps.

GTJ is the perfect example. He didn't hit his stride until the bubble. If we had played one of those scrubs that we brought in over him, long term it would not have been in the best interest of the team. I think we need to know what we have in Collins. I really don't want to see us make the same mistake that we made with Leonard.
GTJ played well throughout the whole season. He wasn't playing like shit underserving of minutes.
