...the US has been trying to be the "policemen of the world" for way to long and trying to force our will, way of life, and government on everyone else, while trying to make them believe they need to be just like us. Well, everyone is not like us and we already have more than our fair share of immigrants, migrants, refugees, etc., while we continue to subsidize way too many people with free government cheese.
...don't get me wrong, I realize there are people who truly need help but the majority of them are simply too sorry to work, and frankly, as long as the government to give shit away there's absolutely no reason for them to work. And the only way for them to give something away is to first take it from someone else...and I'm sick and tired of giving.
...no more immigrants, not until they make some of our shiftless "citizens" get off their asses and go to work like most of us.
...before we take on even more people with there hands out, how about if we take care of our own problems first?

Coming out of Farming Country, (KS), (LA), I know this Nation has a ton of excess grain, meant for Our Citizens in time of Crisis, but more often than not, given away each fkn year, to those effing Soviets/Russians, who are starving, Somalia, et al. Look at all the thanks we got out of Somalia.
BTW- You had Carter pegged, IMO, most Americans, don't or didn't give Carter enough respect, for the Plight of the American Farmers, which Jimmy more than saved, 1000s of Multi-generation Farmers from going belly up. The cost of a fkn Combine alone is a cool Million$$$$$. Many farmers I've seen, don't drive brand new John Deere's either. Only Kellog's, General Mills farms. Which is now an entirely new issue, with the big corporations, competing with small 100,000 acre Farmers, who can hardly contend with Big Brother. I wasn't happy he chose to build 1,000s of Missles in lieu of 135 B2's, but that's my conflict of interest, a debate for another day. However, I still respected the man, just a different viewpoint he had, that's all, no harm no foul. Tho' many screamed foul, that's their bag.
In my Sr Year of H.S. I had read a long article, which stated: "The U.S. is losing Farm Lands at such a rapid rate, and has been for decades, enough I've read, to build a 2 lane Highway from L.A. to NY.; each year". BTW- You were right on Pres. Carter, he may of made a mess of sorts out of our Nuclear Triad, (trying to exchange air borne missles in lieu of Air Born Nuke Platforms, ie B52s, B1s, B2s.
These 3rd World Economies are on the fritz, cuz of the asinine Leadership they have. These Nations often lack the knowledge how to put together a self serving, and for the people, style of Democracy, after they've over thrown their own crooked military regimes; to replace them with just as crooked of regimes.
So who's next, for us to go and turn another Nation, in trouble, which lacks not only food, medical, and other treatments; while getting better medical treatment than most American Seniors. Waste/Sewage Systems, Water-works, Power Plants; all built by American G.I.s, for little to no respect, other than a few IED's in return?
We save the Shah, and get the Ayatollahs, after we fortified their Army and Air Forces. We armed Bin Laden in his fight vs the Russkies, and wound up enabling a mass murderer of epic proportions, mad-men, crazed fkn Muslims, which don't help those Conservative Muslims at all, what few I've met. Tho' I don't turn my back on a fkn one of 'em, cause they will stab it, in more ways than one. We wound up taking on the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Iraq, then have to go back and kick more ass, to get our hands on Oil? Is this the real and only reason we're in the Middle East, to continue to manipulate Oil Prices, no different than OPEC doing the same.
Who ever said this Nation needs other Nations Oil? We have MORE than enough oil of our own on the N. American Continent, Gulf, et al.

Sorry if this sounds crass, but at this older age, I see no need to continue on with being involved in Mid East affairs, without taking their lands from them, and sending the entire lot on ships, aka Drones, target practice for our newer birds in Flight Testing..........
