Lillard is asking for another Meeting with Paul Allen

Lillard "may be" asking for a meeting. Just another canzano garbage article with little substance. Even if he did ask for a meeting, big deal. The other one was made into a much bigger deal than what it really was. Time for johnny to leave the Blazers alone as all he tries to do is stir the pot. Even Quick called him out last year.

Seriously?

No way Boston does that. You gotta be outta your mind.

They should give Griffin for anything at this point. He’s just a bad contract, will make $31.8M next year and over $38M at the end of his contract in 2021-22 (and you can assume he will be very bad at that point at 33). We can’t match his salary with expiring contracts now but will be able to in a year. If in the middle of 2019-20 we send them Leonard, Turner and Harkless who are about to expire at that time they would take it and run.
That contract is

agree 100%.

If you were going to move Dame, you be hitting the reset button, so.......as always I don't care about salary

Dame to Phoenix for Josh Jackson and this years number 1 overall pick

Then trade CJ to Denver for Gary Harris and their 1st this year, and draft Kevin Knox...use our pick to move up if needed.

Ayton
Collins
Jackson
Harris
Baldwin
No.

A non-credible source repeating a claim by a non-credible source does not equal a credible source. Now if a third credible source repeats the claim from the two non-credible sources, well now we have a bona fide rumor. :spammers: (not you Labinot. The "sauces".)

"Hi Paul, how's your day?"
"Great Dame, congrats on first team!"
"Thanks man. Just want to keep this line of communication open over the summer. I'll be in California a lot but if you guys are looking to make moves or acquire certain guys, I'd like to be in the loop. My phones open."
"Sure Dame, I'll let Neil know to keep you updated."
"Alright, have a good summer Paul".
"See you in September Dame."

Later that day:
"- John Canzano (aka Mr. Assclown)
A league-source claims Damian Lillard had a secret meeting with Paul Allen. Specifically mentioned his Californian roots, and stated that he wants the team to keep the phone lines open so they can make moves and acquire players that Dame specifically mentioned in the meeting. If they can't keep Lillard happy and meet his conditions, who knows if Lillard will stick around? We could have another LaMarcus Aldridge situation on our hands."

This is one of the most pointless conversations I have ever seen on the S2 board and it's almost 5 pages long.. The only way Dame gets traded is if he Demands a trade! Dame is the last person on the team the Blazers would trade and rightfully so.

I hate helping people move.

But I would help Dame move.

As long as it's to a new house in Portland.
Boom Boom can move here to Denver, and I will gladly take his place in the Rose City. And help Sly move Dame's stuff to his new castle in rip city.

I don’t have a problem with this post. Love Dame and really don’t want to trade him but I do have some concerns

1. I could see his patience growing thin if he really doesn’t have a shot to win a title (which we don’t without a blockbuster deal)
2. At some point if you don’t see us winning with the nucleus top 3-4 players on our roster we have now then yes you do have to think about making a trade.
3. Best time to trade is when value is highest. 1st team all NBA, he hasn’t requested a trade (which would lower his value) that we know about and we could potentially get a huge haul for him.

That said I love Dame but if it could land us one of the top two picks in this years draft plus a good young player id have to seriously consider it

Trade Dame?

That's a hard no for me.

Thats what i tried to say but.. it was considered an attack.....:banghead2:

It’s a practical consideration - and I stated upfront that Dame is one of if not my all time favourite Blazers. But we cheer for the trophy and you’re right; Dame plays for one too!

How many times after a trade do we hear a player say, “it’s a business?”

How many of them are the face of a franchise though?

Almost always stars don't get traded unless they demand it or are disgruntled.

Most of them play out the contract and then split via free agency. So I don't get your point.

Wasn't trying to attack you, but I think there are more realistic conversations to be had here and trading Dame has been a topic of discussion for a couple years now and has really picked up since the playoffs in several threads.

Just seems you are putting alot of thought and energy into something that wont happen. 99.9% of us know this.

It’s gut wrenching to consider but we’d be fools to think we are even remotely close to a title. Draft is only possible way to create a championship caliber team in Portland. We don’t get free agents it’s been proven time and time again. It’s very difficult to even make a trade that would make us contenders with the roster we have now.

Again it would have to be an incredible deal for me to consider trading Dame (multiple drafts picks or great draft pick plus a good young player off another roster). Unfortunately as much as Dame says he wants to be here I think it’s a matter of time before he request a trade especially if we aren’t able to get some help for him. Obviously before you ever trade Damr you consider all other options especially trading C.J. who is your next most valuable player.

We are in the worst position possible in basketball right in the middle of the pack. We’ll definitely be entertained during the regular season just don’t expect much else.

I get so tired of hearing this.

Do you really think we are in a worse position than BRK? They have averaged 23 wins per season for the last 3 years and have the 29th pick in the draft.

Do you really think we are in a worse position than SAC? 12 straight trips to the lottery and 12 straight losing seasons. Sure, they have the 2nd pick in the draft, but they'll fuck it up. They always do. They've had 9 top 8 picks in the last 9 years and have Buddy Hield, Willie Cauley-Stein and De'Aaron Fox to show for it.

Winning 49 games is not "right in the middle of the pack". We have a 1st team All NBA player, another proven 20+ PPG scorer and two promising young bigs to build around. Will that eventually get us a championship? Who knows. Building a championship team takes time. It doesn't happen overnight. There is no sliver bullet, not even the draft lottery.

BNM, it's the worst possible position other than those 20 other teams that have it worse.

I’m not saying to trade Dame I’m saying we’d be foolish not to listen if someone was willing to make the right deal then we have to consider it.

My comment wasn't about trading Dame, it was a response to your claim that:

"We are in the worst position possible in basketball right in the middle of the pack."

To bring this full circle...

How can we be in the worst possible position in basketball? At the very least, we have a 1st team All NBA player we can trade. Only 4 other teams can claim the same.

Holy shit!

So not a bot?

That is a logical answer tho...:smiley-hmm:
