I own that one as well, one of my favorites.
I just watched No Country For Old Men again the other day. I don't think people realize how nuanced and deep the messages in that film are. It's like a beautiful painting that you can look at it for hours and hours and still not completely visually understand. I went to see the Hateful 8 the other day and it works on none of those levels. The dialog and cinematograohy are wonderful but the narrative is stifled by Tarantino's lack of classical dramatic influences. I know Tarantino is well read, but when your trying to convey deep themes on crime and punishment.... read Doestevsky first dude. You know even Scorcese read Henry James when he wasn't making Mean Streets.

1 22 16 I had recently enjoyed the New Star Wars movie. The acting skills were very good along with a decent script. The robot actors and their cameos are not my favorite but the new rolling ball robot was the best of the bunch. The graphic elements were very well done. All in all I give it 4 of 5 but I ALWAYS prefer Star TREK

>The Coen Brothers always have great writers and scripts. A new movie illustrating their talents is coming featuring George Cloney. I believe it is called Caesar.

To ADD mystery and intrigue to my life I have set my Netflix Q for the entire Breaking Bad series. All fans know you have to start at #1 . The best television series of all time IMO.

Yeah. Those guys should be given special awards for keeping the great American storyline valid. It doesn't matter whether it's in Fargo, LA or West Texas. They find value in telling stories that celebrate who we are and where we are going. It goes back to writers like Mark Twain and Stephen Crane. Hell even Tarantino sees value in our culture, even if it's celluloid culture. You can only sell so many comic book movies, folks.

Saw The Revenant. It was a good movie, a bit slow at points, but some of the best cinematography I've seen in a movie. The whole movie seemed bigger than itself in part due to the massive wide angle wilderness shots.

Leo did a great job acting the role.

Rev was an AWESOME movie! This is one I'll get the DVD for when it comes out. It had the distant musical tracks, but only when necessary. They were very short and gave edge to the relevant scenes.

If you haven't seen this one, you're missing out!

Concussion. Great film, seriously go see this. Will Smith won me back over with this one. Excellent.

Just finished Straight Outta Compton. It was really well done. I didn't like the actor playing Snoop and I thought for a minute Tupac was playing himself. Luckily Snoop was barely in it.

I generally don't enjoy true stories but this one was very good.

Edit. ..unrated director's cut. Almost 3 hours.

Damn those guys have made some killer effin' movies.
I'm pretty sure they're just the best. I watched Barton Fink last night and absolutely loved it. Apparently they wrote it in three weeks because they were dealing with writer's block while working on Miller's Crossing.

Loved The Revenant. Not for Leo's performance. Nor for Hardy's . The true star is Inarritu's vision. If he'd come from an American film school that movie would have been completely different. Nobody gets off with a glamorous portrait in that film. I could see Sam Fuller shooting a film like that years ago. Amazing piece of work.

Straight outta Compton.

A lot better than I was expecting. Really well written given it's about Ni**as With Attitude.

Though, the scene of Eazy-E with the watery eyes as he drove around town was cheesy. Like, I made it
