lol, I'm not a gamer and got my first PS3 many years ago because it was the best blu ray player available and as cheap as the stand alones. Now days you can pick up a cheap blu ray player so I sold my original PS3 fat boy and got a stand alone but this sweet deal for a used ps3 slim came along for $30 so I figured why not. My son has been a gamer and had a PS3 as well then got an Xbox 360 and now has the PS4. My gaming days date back to the Colecovision, then Nintendo, Super Nintendo and the Nintendo 64. Loved Mario Kart and the Super Mario games were fun.
Wife got me PS3 for birthday. Wanted to take it back but as you said, bluray player. Kept it. Told friend about how dumb games were and he said just try it.

Rented call of duty or something. Told friend how fun it was. He asked if I played online. Said NO, stupid people do that.

He said just try it... tried online and was HOOKED

Got BF3 and got hooked on shooting helicopters out of the sky and the hate mail I got from people who thought I was cheating.

Haven't played for years but was top 20 for T90 kills when I quit. Still 42

Anyone see Deadpool 2 yet?

yerp, not as good as the first - but pretty decent - fun watch.

one thing that kinda sucked was there wasnt really a villain.

all you need to know is 'parachute scene' and thats the high point of the movie.

a few good cameos too

I'd agree with Blayza, Deadpool was entertaining, but the bad guy was pretty weak.

That parachute scene was great.

The Disaster Artist was pretty good if you know anything about the Room, James Franco shouldn't have resorted to nepotism to give his brother the other leading role though.

A quiet place- interesting concept with a lot of plot holes. It’s okay

Ready player one- if you have ever been a gamer, there are a lot of nods to gaming. I liked it because it’s different but it’s also pretty mediocre and god damn there is waaaaay too much cgi

Annihilation. Not bad. One terrific scene.

I watched that earlier this year. I liked it only because it was different and I like out of the norm shit. I’m so tired of every movie having the same tropes and predictable plot lines. So literally if any movie does anything different than normal, I give it extra points even if it’s ass. I liked annihliation. It was solid. The sameness director that did ex machina. Thought that movie was way better though.

Yeah. Spoiler alert....

That talking bear thing scene was super creepy. The wife had a nightmare about it.

Watching The Quick and the Dead my favorite western outside of Unforgiven.

These two weren't bad:

First Reformed - Still thinking about this one.
The House of Tomorrow - Sheltered teen and sickly teen start a punk band.

Just saw Ocean's 8 with the wife. Wasn't as good as I hoped it was going to be. Something was missing. The writing was off. Story was perhaps to easy, boring at times. I wanted more from it. Cate Blanchette was the best. Sandra Bullocks counter part to George Clooney's Ocean was a bit off par. A group of strong actresses that were terribly underused. Characters that were too simple. Not having Julia Roberts in it was a miss.

Death Wish was mildly entertaining but nothing new. Filler

I thought it was ok. I'd agree with being midly entertained. Bruce is getting old. I hope if they do sequels they center each around a new lead, another citizen who was inspired by the last to take justice into their own hands. Bruce Willis's character went viral in the movie. Someone was watching. Someone whose story we should see next.

Bruce is just a bit too old to be cool and just a bit too young to be cool in this movie. Harry Brown was a much better version of this.

Back to this. Elizabeth Shue is still a damn fine looking woman. Hope she doesn't go surgery crazy because she looks good.

There is a similar movie called Death Kiss coming out and apparently they cloned Charles Bronson

I think movies overall are just pretty meh these days. I think all the talented writers are in television whether it be hbo or Netflix originals. I was hyped for Christopher Nolan’s last movie Dunkirk because he makes good movies and is one of my favorites but to be honest I thought it was boring. Cinematography wise it was great but other than that it was boring.
It would be very difficult to make a good movie based on an historical event, that might be the epitome of, piss poor planning preceding predictable pathetic performance.

There was a minor bit of Dunkirk that was more personal than historical.

If the entire point of it had been about one of them trying anything evil or ruthless to survive it might have been more entertaining. As it was it was just a well filmed near documentary. Nolan is still a great filmmaker.

Just started watching a really good miniseries on cable called "C. B. Strike". It's about an English Private Eye investigating a murder case in England.

I will probably give it a look one of these days.

Just watched the new Tomb Raider movie. I like it better than its predecessors. While Angelina Jolie is probably a better "lady croft" Alicia Vikander is the better Lara.

I thought Jolie was horrible in the first movie. Because of that I haven't seen any of the sequels.
