Saw Super Troopers 2. Not nearly as good as the first one. Still pretty funny.

Saw 'Payback' for the upteenth time. Still great, especially the opening few minutes, however, the whole movie is great.
 
Just saw a rerun of The Appaloosa. Stars Marlon Brando. He's perfect. The bad guy is John Saxon, another great acting job.
 
Saw Streets of Fire again and it still rocks. Made me want to see Rocky Horror Picture Show again.

Last night I saw James Bond in Spectre. I copied it three or four days ago and waited until last night to watch it. I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as they usually are.

Coming in late on this thread. I saw Leave No Trace with my son 3 or 4 weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised. I read the book it was based on, My Abandonment, a few years back and hated the ending. The movie is MUCH better than the book (how often can you say that?). I kept waiting for the crappy ending that never happened. There were other changes, that made the movie better than the book, but I don't want to reveal any spoilers for anyone who may be planning to catch this on cable/Netflix when it comes out.

Sicario sequel was good. Not what I expected and kinda blunt but still enjoyable.

The First Purge on the other hand. What a piece of shit that thing was. The actors were actually pretty good. The main drug dealer kingpin is very good and an interesting actor I hope to see more of.

The SJW nutjob writer that created this series and wrote this piece of shit.......I often wonder how they get this stuff made. It makes money...I get that.

The first few movies were mindless guilty pleasures. This was mindless race war shit.

I liked both Kingsmen movies but especially the first.
If you want to see a great old movie, watch Laura with Dana Andrews. This is as terrific as a movie can get.

All of those movies have been good.
 
Smallfoot, saw it with two grandsons,2years and 5years,. they loved it gave it two thumbs up and were on the edge of their seats 'gasping' and wondering 'why?' i gave the popcorn 2 thumbs up.
 
The Martian was better than I expected. I'm not a big fan of Matt Damon, but I think he performed enjoyably well in this movie.

Some of his other movies I like: Good Will Hunting, The Talented Mr. Ripley, True Grit.

Yeah, that was good.

I also enjoyed Passengers with Chris Pratt.
 
Maybe this should be in the girly stuff you do thread, but went a saw "A Star is Born" with Mrs. CC and it was damned good. Going to win some Oscars.
 
I recently saw Blade Runner 2049 and was completely impressed. Perfect pace, perfect homage, beautiful cinematography, nice little twist at the end. Harrison Ford was an actual character instead of whatever he was in The Force Awakens. I liked it.

On my flights last week, I saw Creed (****), Lady Bird (***), Downsizing (**^), I Feel Pretty(**), The Italian Job (***^), Rampage (***), and Red Sparrow (***^).

I'm an easy grader.

Creed was the shit. Waiting for Creed 2. I have seen Downsizing. Good movie. The Italian Job is always fun to watch. They were going to make a sequel the Brazilian Job but it hasn't happened. Rampage was what I expected lots of action with comic relief, not a lot of story. Haven't seen the other three.

Which Downsizing movie did you like best--the first half of it, which was actually about the idea of "getting small" and living in a big person's world, or the second half which was all about climate change and community activism?

Movies which completely change their identity mid-film really frustrate me.
 
Just picked up Solo A Star Wars story last night. It was entertaining and continued the Star Wars saga, which I have been a huge fan of over the years and I expect a sequel eventually.

Confidence was a good one starring Edward Burns and Dustin Hoffman.
