Gonna pick up skyscraper tommorow out of red box

Just picked up Solo A Star Wars story last night. It was entertaining and continued the Star Wars saga, which I have been a huge fan of over the years and I expect a sequel eventually.
I really liked the first Star Wars and it's been downhill, in my opinion, ever since. By the way, I was one of the very first people to see the original Star Wars back in I believe, 1977. Was the third person in the door of the theater having the first showing in Oregon, the West Gate theater in Beaverton. Of course, this excludes any pre-views.

They still have Red Box?

Red Box is everywhere lanny. What source do you use for rentals. I think one of the last standing independent video stores is not to far away from me on about 42nd and Belmont. Very unique store with all sorts of memorabilia and very rare movies. The Hollywood Theater foundation purchased to store a few years back from the original owner.

I use cable TV. I get more than enough to view and I don't have to leave my family room.

The Spanish Prisoner

What a great con job.

How can it be that a movie is better than the book?

The director and screenwriter changed the ending - for the better. It was the reason I didn't care for the book:

"Though "Leave No Trace" is based on Peter Rock's novel "My Abandonment," which in turn was inspired by a true story, Granik and Rosellini, who worked on the script for four years, have made shrewd revisions to the second half which enhance the story's draw without falling into obvious narrative traps."

They made other, more subtle changes, but changing the ending was enough to turn a bad book into a good movie.

BNM

I recommend The Awful Truth (with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne) unreservedly. Same dog actor as in the Thin Man movies.

He was also in Bringing Up Baby with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn.

Try I Was a Male War Bride with Cary Grant. Old but yet one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

Another great one is North by North West with Cary Grant, James Mason and Martin Landau. This is an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Funny and serious.

North by Northwest is fantastic. The Mt. Rushmore scene is incredible. Other Hitchcock movies I liked were Rear Window, Vertigo, and especially The Birds.

Rear Window is a fantastic movie I watched again about a week ago.

I recently purchase the following 3 movies and will watch them soon:
Too Big to Fail
The Big Short
Margin Call

Looking to purchase soon:
Hostiles
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
Spotlight
The Insider

What do mean purchase? Like one of those dvd things?

I thought Solo was a really fun movie. Got such a bad rap from the Star Wars fanboys.

I can explain, but I feel like I am wasting my time. There's just something about you I don't like.

To the iggy bin you go.

Good call.

Good call. I was essentially making fun of you for buying movies in this day and age anyhow...

You don't know who I am. You don't know what I do. Yet, you sit there making assumptions of a person buying movies. Really?

This is not the first time you make assumptions and roll with them. That shows a lot about your character.

We must have different definitions for the word purchase. My fault.

Also, what you detect as smugness, isn't. Unless of course it's about idiotic people defending hate symbols. Then there is a little smugness involved.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

You just made my day with that weak ass shit you're still butt hurt over.

I just have an elephant's memory for the imbecilic. It's a curse really.

You seriously are giving the alt-right power over an appropriated frog symbol originally designed as a cartoon character.

You do understand that the cartoonist Matt Furie is fighting against the appropriation. And the person who was using the logo in S2 was not using it as a hatred symbol.

I actually think "imbecilic" is giving the alt-right power over you. That is your curse.

Enough of your crying over Pepe the Frog. Take that crap to another thread.

This is a movie thread and it needs to get back on tract.
