Yeah. I downloaded a copy of it a few months back from a BBC broadcast. But played it on my new widescreen, the clarity and sped up HD war footage was still incredible. Had my parents over to watch and they said was maybe the best war documentary they had ever seen. Very sobering and poignant at the same time.

When it comes to Forbidden Planet, yes, I'm a afraid I am a nit picker. That's probably my all time favorite science fiction. Probably enjoyed it more than 2001 A Space Odyssey, a very close second.
I was just a small child when it came out but you should have seen what a hit Robby the Robot was. I remember going trick or treating about that time and someone had a robot that delivered a tray of candy to the front door. Us kids talked about that for days.
 
I'm currently watching Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom.
Less than half way through.
Had to take a break.
Damn, these scary movies put me on edge.
I need a beer and some cigarettes. Now, who's got some?

Fantastic movie with Anne Francis and Leslie Nielsen. My friend's father gave me a set of sci-fi movies from the 50s. This was one of them!

The others were:

The War of the Worlds
The Thing from Another World

Walter Pidgeon, Earl Holiman, James Drury and Jack Kelly.
I've seen a lot of cool science fiction movies but that one was the best.
I've been hearing of a remake in the works for over 20 maybe 30 years. What's the holdup?
 
Half way through Roma. It is beautiful to look at and mildly interesting.

I don't get the hype though. I haven't finished it but a best picture candidate should be more than just a visual stunner shouldn't it?
 
I have three kids under 4, a job, and just a lot of things going on so most of the movies I watch are literally for kids because I watch them with my kids, so... That said, I watched, “Christopher Robin”, with my girls and I really, really enjoyed it. I have a nostalgia soft spot for Winnie the Pooh, I also thought the writing and acting was pretty good overall too!
 
Just saw Green Book. What a joke that that movie won Best Picture. A movie full of cliches and stereotypes moralizing about how bad stereotypes are.

Oh good. Sounds great. Will pay two whole dollars to rent it tomorrow.
 
Drago and his kid were the best part of it. Different director than Creed and more of another formula Rocky movie than the last one.

It was one of those movies I probably expected too much from.
 
Any of you guys go to the Portland International Film Festival - PIFF? We always make it to a few of the flicks every year, but most are quite odd. I guess that's the point. :breakdance:
 
I saw Atila the Battle Droid or whatever it was. Actually pretty good, especially when she (spoilers) punches one of the bad guys and says "fuck your mercy"

I thought they should have saved that storyline for the next movie. It took away from him becoming champion. He fought some guy that sucked ass and won far too easily. There was another story there to be told.

I am a Rocky purist, I love the formula of the originals. It's patient and it shows his journey. They skipped ahead in this one, probably concerned about not getting anymore made and wanted to have that part of the story told while they could. I liked the movie, but they were in too much of a hurry. Creed was Rocky 1, Creed 2 is Rocky 2,3, and 4 all smashed together. Creeds journey is left wanting.
