Just a little tidbit from Wojnarowski:

The Portland Trail Blazers traded the 24th and 56th picks in the draft to the Dallas Mavericks for the 22nd pick on Wednesday afternoon, a league source told Yahoo Sports. Portland could use the pick to package with a player to move up into the lottery.

Also:

Kidd is considering possibilities with Portland and Cleveland, but he always loved New York a lot more than New Jersey. He built good relationships with Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni and Portland’s Nate McMillan when they were assistant coaches for Team USA.

Something tells me we're not targeting a college player this time around. If we move into the lottery, it will only be to trade that pick to someone else as part of a deal for a veteran player.

Or not. I could be all wet. What do I know? :ghoti:

I can't wait kick back with some brews and watch the fireworks blast off today/tonight. Is it 4 yet?

And so the chess game begins. I now have a feeling KP has targeted Lawson. Today, ESPN mentioned the Knicks could take him at #8 over Flynn.

Does the draft start right at 4, or is that when ESPN's coverage starts? I don't get out of work till 4:30 so I wont be home till 4:45. But I was thinking the first pick probably wouldn't happen till 4:30. Anyone know for sure?

That's pretty cool that Kidd is actually 'considering' us, if true. There was one point I remember where he absolutely didn't want to come here if we traded for him, or it may have been someone else.

But I'd be on the Kidd bandwagon for a few seasons I think..

Maybe he can teach the rest of the Blazers on how to beat their wives and get away with it. :)

Rubio seem like it's not a possibility.

My choices, in order:

1) Johnny Flynn
2) Stephen Curry
3) James Harden
4) Jordan Hill

I am kind of hoping Jordan Hill is the high lotto target

Well you know it is a weak draft when a top 5 guy like Jordan Hill is called an "Unpolished version of Channing Frye".....

yea you go right ahead and go get him..... Good luck with that.

Do you watch college hoops at ALL?
He is nothing like Frye..guy is a monster on the glass, very athletic, and still has some potential left in his game

I think 430.

I checked ESPN times last night before I went to bed (so I could record it). It lists the Pre-draft at 4:00 and the draft starting at 4:30. Hope this helps.

I never fine people for lack of humor. I do disparage them, however.

Well if you got past your lack of a sense of humor maybe you would realize I am saying a reason I don't want him here.

I think there's a good chance we don't hear anything today. A trade might not go down until after the draft. I'm convinced we're not keeping our 1st round pick though.

A bit off topic, but can you please refrain from using the phrase "i could be all wet" while i can see Bex in my peripheral vision as your avatar? VERY distracting.

One team we spoke to mentioned hearing that Portland is now trying to get up to the #17 pick, and that they are continuing to target Ty Lawson. They also hear that Portland will likely take Victor Claver with the #33 pick, if he’s available.
