I find no such news, only editorial conjectures that Mueller is attempting to coerce her to lie by offering a deal as he has done with others.

Mueller only seeks the truth. It's your boy that lies and is getting caught with his hands in the cookie jar.

The irony of you making this post is delicious.

Damnit Sly, everyone knows that only Fox news reports things accurately.

Disclaimer: I struggled to keep a straight face and not burst out laughing when I made this post.

Her Dad says she's being coerced and has not been provided adequate defense attorneys. Bizarrely, she has been held in solitary confinement and prevented from any contact with her family and legal advisors back home.

Grounds to overturn just about anything that Mueller throws at her.

Russian Citizen Butina Detained In US Lacks Funding For Defense - Father

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 06th December, 2018) Russian national Maria Butina, jailed in the United States on charges of being an unregistered foreign agent, might be unable to fund lawyers, her father said.

"We have just faced another grave problem which is the lack of funding for defense. Big money, several million rubles, is required to fund further work of the lawyers. The worst thing that might happen is the lawyers scraping their work," Valery Butin said in an interview with the Russian Izvestiya newspaper.

The situation around Butina was exacerbated by the claims about the Russian national's alleged willingness to plead guilty in exchange for obtaining the US citizenship, her father added.

"This is not true. She will not resort to striking any plea agreement which will make her plead guilty for the crimes she had not committed," Butina's father pointed out.

In late November, Bloomberg reported citing Washington Federal court that Butina was close to striking a deal with the prosecution.

Butina's father then told the RT broadcaster that his daughter did not contact him regarding the issue, suggesting that she could be pressurized by the US authorities into accepting a deal.

Butina, a recent student and a political activist, was arrested in Washington, DC in mid-July on suspicions of acting as an agent for a foreign government. She has denied the accusations. Butina, who faces up to 15 years in jail, is now being held in a prison in the US city of Alexandria, Virginia.

In September, Butina's sister Marina said that the woman's family had launched a fund in a bid to collect some financial aid for the prisoner's defense.

Russian authorities have slammed the US government for Butina's arrest, insisting that the charges against her were groundless. The Russian Foreign Ministry has called Butina's ongoing detention unacceptable and called the accusations trumped-up.

If the defence working on Maria’s case quit, it could result in a severe sentence, her father says

BARNAUL, December 6. /TASS/. It is just the enthusiasm that keeps attorneys for Maria Butina, arrested in the US, working on her case since they only receive a symbolic payment for their job, her father, Valery Butin, told TASS, voicing concern that there is no money left to pay for their services, meaning the attorneys could quit, leaving Maria without a defense.

"Millions of rubles (are needed). There was assistance from the Fund, established to support Maria, but it is not comparable with how much is needed. <...> The attorneys work out of enthusiasm simply because they are good people, they understand that the case is unfair in legal terms, which is an opportunity for them, and they could win the case. They work for free now, but they are hired, and it is unclear for how long their employer will allow them to do their job free of charge," Butin said.

According to him, the attorneys have received insignificant sums as payment, but it is not enough. Butin noted that if the defenders working on Maria’s case quit, it could result in a severe sentence.

"Ending up without a defense now poses a threat of being sentenced to up to 15 years, to be precise. The deadline for finding the money has long expired," he emphasized.

Butin also said that he had received a letter from the office of Russian Human Rights Commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, in which she asked the private sector to support Maria. Her father plans to use this document to appeal to businessmen for their assistance. At present, Maria is being housed in a separate cell, and it is not clear when this regime is going to be lifted.

Butina case
Maria Butina, who studied at American University in Washington, had been arrested on July 15 ahead of the Helsinki summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump. The Russian gun rights activist is facing charges of conspiracy for conducting activities in the interests of a foreign state. Investigators claim that she was engaged in these activities without registering as a foreign agent at the US Department of Justice.

During a July 21 phone conversation with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov demanded a speedy release for Butina, having deemed the charges against her as fabricated.

Its pretty pathetic the lengths they will go to strongarm people to do their will.

The government will provide her with a public defender if she can't afford her own lawyer. That's the way the system works, for her and every other defendant in this country.

Solitary confinement is also not grounds to overturn any charges.

Government-appointed attorney to defend against a corrupt politically-motivated government investigation, Right.

ANYTHING, including unjustified solitary confinement, that is used to coerce a plea/perjury is grounds for appeal.

Mueller has already been accused of suborning perjury, and will likely face criminal charges for it soon.

Yes, I'm sure you are correct about that, your track record on this sort of thing is exemplary.
