Zombie Must draft Kelly Olynyk!!!

9'0" standing reach is good. Sounds like some fudged up a measurement.

That's not that ridiculous of a difference... it probably just means he has a more narrow frame than a lot of the guys his size.

These measurements are pretty irrelevant when it comes to making draft decisions though, unless there's a huge disparity between what's been reported all season long and what was measured at the combine.

Every now and then a guy will get drafted based on his measurements and actually pan out to be a good player, but more often than not, you get a Saer Sene, Patrick O'Bryant, DeSagana Diop, Hassan Whiteside, Alex Ajinca, or Hasheem Thabeet. You also have countless bigs with great measurements that didn't even get drafted or make the league.

With that said, does anyone have the bench press numbers? They mean absolutely nothing in the game of basketball, but I think they're interesting none the less, and I can't find any site that has them posted. DX has put out pretty much everything except the bench.

Because everybody can reach higher than their head when they reach upward. Try it, you'll be amazed.

Am I missing something simple here?

Chad Ford's got Olynyk going #23 in his latest mock draft -

23

Kelly Olynyk

Indiana Pacers

COLLEGE: Gonzaga

AGE: 22

HT: 7-0

WT: 234

POS: PG

Analysis: The Pacers are in danger of losing David West this summer. While Olynyk is no West, he's a very skilled four who can create his shot off the dribble and score in the post. He's a great value here after slipping a bit with a so-so performance at the draft combine.

I've said it a long time ago. But, Chad Ford is notoriously wrong. I'll bet any one of you that Olynyk will not go past the lottery.

I know he has skills, but do you think his measurements will throw up some red flags?

The only measurement that matters to me isn't even measured in pre-draft. I wanna know how big his heart and balls are.

Measurements are just something to fill the time until we get guys working out for teams. Fun to look at and fawn over, but don't really mean much.

With as much time as you've spent swinging from his jock, I can't imagine that you don't already know how big his balls are.

After months of analysis, I have decided to jump onto the haywagon. Draft Kelly Olynik!

Is analysis a word you substitute for drug use?

I can't imagine a bigger waste of a draft pick for a rebuilding team

We need more like him. My hair won't grow that long anymore.

Olynyk was in Portland today for a workout. Rumor is he's not really on the Blazers' radar, though, due to short arms and the "stretch 4" comments from a 7' player.

He's gonna be that one that got away. Were going to be having Kenneth Faried like flashbacks in a couple years.

I think he is going to make it in the NBA. Do I really want to spend the #10 pick on a stretch 4?
No.

But he does have a nice skill set. And what worried me about him most was his relatively small window of success. But I must admit the whole growth spurt thing explains why he had to red-shirt, and why he was able to improve once he did. I think he will continue to get better and in no way will end up as a bust like I thought AM would. (And did)

Bump.

I told you fools back in January that he'd be a lotto pick.
