Zombie Must draft Kelly Olynyk!!! (1 Viewer)

That was not the point. Golden State is happy drafting Ezeli and he is performing far below what you think Olynyk will do. Saying any team will be happy drafting Olynyk is pretty vague.

Olynyk is going to be a baller.

Just let it breathe a little bit. We'll revisit.

I've watched Gonzaga play multiple times and he isn't that great. I really doubt he's going to be much more then a role player at the NBA level, if that.

I'm tired of teaching you guys about prospects every year. Nobody around here knows squat about college prospects but when the draft comes around you act like experts. Yawn.

Bullshit. My track record is just like yours minus the Morrison embarrassment. You can't whiff on a high lottery pick like that and keep your title of "expert".

Sure, I didn't hate the Nolan Smith pick, but that was in the 20s, and Faried clearly was a lottery player in that draft, which nobody called.

Will have to get more info, but I have seen with other draftees where scouts think they have the next Dirk that turn out horribly. Even with Dirk there is still concerns about every other aspect of his game besides shooting.

So you are saying lottery pick and that he gets a sizable contract after his rookie deal is up?

Apparently Zags' big claim to fame is Faried, but when a player is drafted in the 20s, and he never said he should be drafted in the lottery, does it even matter?

I actually go to NCAA games, and each March go to a first-round site for games with buddies. This year is San Jose, although we may actually just go to Vegas instead because San Jose sucks balls. Hoping the Ducks make it, that may change my mind.

Next year we're back in Portland at the RG!

No, you don't really have a track record. You never really go out on a limb during draft time one way or the other. I put myself out there and let it be known who I like and don't like.

The Morrison burn doesn't even phase me as that was like 7 years ago and he was a top 3 pick so its obvious I wasn't the only one that was high on him.

Oh really? I went on a huge fucking limb for LMA on BBB.net in 2006, and also was a Roy advocate, although I thought Gay may be the better.

You were wetting your pants over Morrison. The Blazers haven't had a pick that high since Oden, who I know you weren't arguing against.

A legend in your own mind. People are mocking you in this thread, as they should be.

I was right there with you on Lillard, and I actually did my undergrad work at a Big Sky school, so he was on my radar.

Plenty of posts from last year from me advocating Lillard and laughing at those who called him short, too old, or from a small school.

Link? about Roy and Aldridge?

I told the board you could essentially flip a coin between Durant and Oden. I said Durant was going to be a special scorer, but you can't teach 7 foot and thought Oden could change the game defensively.

Haven't seen Gonzaga play, yet. Hope to watch them against Baylor.
Baylor also has an interesting team this year with a soft-handed 7-footer making 3s in Isaiah Austin (as thin as Camby but has surprisingly good post-up game and rebounds well. Doesn't block like Camby. very good passer), Also some other good inside players in Corey Jefferson and Rico Gathers.
The team I like the most so far this year is Michigan. Trey Burke and Glen Robinson are very good prospects, I also like Tim Hardaway Jr.

Bfd. You also put yourself out there with bigoted statements against all religions but yours. That doesn't get you many points, either.

SlyPokerDog is a blowhard.

Go Blazers

Just don't act surprised this draft season when I teach you about more guys. Kay?

If you're that big into college ball, let's get the NCAA forum going again. NCAA ball is my first love and the NBA is just my mistress.

Let's get some talk going on that end of the spectrum. For example, what do you think about Duke falling to #3 after losing at NC State? I don't get that. Louisville took over the #1 spot, even though Duke beat Louisville, as well as Minnesota, Kentucky, VCU, and Ohio State. Duke being #3 just because they lost one game, on the road, to the preseason ACC favorite is criminal given their resume, in my opinion.

I would've loved to, but I'm working 50 hour work weeks lately. I catch as much college ball as I can and always watch my Zags games. I think Louisville won't last long as #1 as the Big East will be a bloodbath.

IMO, the best team in nation right now is Kansas. Its one of those years where there's just no clear cut #1. I think it will juggle all year.

I hear ya,... I just left the sports marketing world to go to law school in the fall, so I've just got an unreasonable amount of time to post and watch games at the moment. It'd be cool if we could find some other NCAA fans on the forum though and get some good NCAA talk going.

My main problem with Louisville being #1 is that they have the same record as Duke, and Duke beat them. I don't think that when the #1 team loses, you should drop them off their #1 spot just because of the loss. You should still assess their body of work, and Duke's body of work is unparalleled this season, with wins over Louisville, Minnesota, Ohio State, Kentucky, Temple, and VCU. They've got the #1 RPI for a reason. I hate Duke, but they deserve the #1 ranking.

Louisville is a great team, but the problem I have with them is that their offense is generated by two players that are erratic... Peyton Siva and Russ Smith. Gorgui Dieng is the only real constant on the roster. Dieng is raw offensively, but he gets the job done on the boards and intimidates defensively. Siva and Smith, on the other hand, are complete wild cards ever single game. They both remind me of Greivis Vasquez at Maryland,... players that could easily go off for 20+ any given night, but players that could just as easily lose the game for you with their poor decision making.

I like when zags, or anyone prognosticates about draftees. I do discount anything you say about a gonzaga prospect, but that doesn't mean I totally ignor it. I will check out some gonzaga games, especially if they continue playing well.

I don't watch many college basketball games until late in the season and especially madness. So reading others opinions gives me reason to check out certain games I might otherwise never watch play.

I don't care about you supporting Morrison, I don't expect anyone, let alone forum posters to always be right, especially when they post their thoughts well ahead of proof.

Another beastly game for Olynyk.

Watching the game, there was really nothing to get excited about in the way he scored tonight. Only 19 minutes due to foul trouble and think that only one of the shots he had to create himself. Saw some things I liked, but he also seemed a bit robotic and slow IMO. Will keep watching to make a better judgement, but agree he is better than where he is currently slotted to be drafted.

WTF is robotic about him? A legit 7 footer that can put the ball on the deck and drive and face up jump shoot with ease is hardly 'robotic'.

I haven't watched him in a game yet so my opinion is shit.
