Those were the days. Sigh.

Shit, remember the Jordan rules?
League doesn't have the talent it used too. Can't afford to lose somebody to injury or suspension. Larry Bird put it best. Playoffs are like another season. I honestly don't know how players get through it.

I have to admit Olynck has turned into a good player. Oregon hired a an assistant basketball coach from Canada and it has made all the difference. Canadians are the future of the Ducks program. Go Canada!

I will make it simple.

Zags loves to be one of those guys that says "I knew that guy was going to be good back in college." He created this thread and got a TON of shit for his fanboying of Kelly Olynyk. He was touting this dude as the next Dirk. The guy has been an overwhelming bust in that regard.

"He's the closest thing to Dirk there is."

So now Zags is trying to save face..... but it's actually even funnier.

I think it becomes more and more apparent that MickZagger needs to start watching college hoops outside of Gonzaga. Outside of John Stockton, Rony Turiaf has had the best career.

Props to you Zags! It finally panned out. Been bashing on you since the Draft The Stache days. Congrats!

Oh and he will be dunked on at least 5 times by 'Bron 'Bron, but at least you had this one night FAMS!

2 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists on 1-6 shooting in 16 minutes.

Still think CJ was a smart choice.

As do I, but I find it interesting that if you sort that draft class by win shares, C.J. come in 8th (chosen 10th) at 15.7 and Olynyk comes in 9th (chosen 13th) at 14.6.

The difference is their trajectories. C.J. started slow, first due to injury and then being buried behind Wes Matthews. But then he's really taken off the last two seasons:

C.J. McCollum:
2013-14 WS = 0.2
2014-15 WS = 1.8
2015-16 WS = 6.0
2016-17 WS = 7.6
Total WS = 15.7

Olynyk started out much higher, rose a little and appears to have plateaued:

Kelly Olynyk:
2013-14 WS = 2.9
2014-15 WS = 3.6
2015-16 WS = 4.1
2016-17 WS = 4.1
Total WS = 14.6

C.J. is definitely the better player today, and should continue to separate himself from Olynyk going toward.

So can we now say CJ was the correct choice and Olynyk slightly outperformed his draft position?

If only we could have Brundlefly'd them.

KJ McLynyk!
