Huh, I didn't know that. That's really disappointing.
Northern England is the birthplace of hordes of soccer hooligans ...I think the entertainment world has it's share of macho attitudes and close minded people...I've met my share in the music biz

Oh, I meant to ask...is "Too Kind To Be Cruel" a nod to Nick Lowe's "Cruel To Be Kind" (a gem!) or unrelated?

Related only as a bit of wordplay; the song is about a former band member who turned out to be a TERF after she left.

FWIW - I listened to the album yesterday after I downloaded my purchased copy - and I am listening to it again today - and I really like it.

I certainly do not have the music credentials many of our other members here have - but I can certainly say that I enjoy it, so that's great.

I really really like this one!!! Great chords and note harmonies! The beginning is a bit similar to a song I wrote called Rose City's Rockin. One of the songs on the disc i'm currently trying to finish. :)

Also a bit like that "Kiss Me" song. I forget the artist. Female though.

Anyhow. Love it. :)

EDIT: Wait!! The link was supposed to go to your song "Panther City Pariah"

Question. Programmed drums or do you have a drummer? I almost cant tell, other than the Snare sounds extremely consistent for a real drummer. :)

Thank you! We used Logic Pro X’s drummers which are pretty good at sounding naturalistic (we also EQ’d the drums a lot to get them to sound unique); my own tastes in snare sounds run a little Steely Dan in the need for perfectionism so it does end up sounding a little too consistent.

all good. There is no right or wrong in my opinion. All abOut personal preferences and Steely Dan is a great level to try to achieve. Some incredibly pure and real mixing in thier music. :)
If it weren't for that though, i probably wouldn't have thought it was programmed. im using EZdrummer2, much the same concept. Wav files of real drummers in tue studio available to manipulate via pro tools instrument track midi grids.

Its become my favorite thing to do. Find beats and tweak them to my songs and what not.
