OT My soon to be Blazers tattoo

Welcome to our community

Try something temporary first before you are committed. If you do, it depends where it will be placed and how large it is.

get whatever you want, and dont waver in your resolve. go with your gut. peeps in here already got you tilting at pinwheels.

if you like it, thats really all that matters. changing your idea based on someone elses perspective will just make your tattoo seem shallow and generic.

1. My Laser Blaze suggestion was solid.

2. All great art was created after consulting with anonymous people on the internets. It's the reason Da Vinci created the internet.

1. when gif tattoos are a thing, you should claim credit.

2. great art comes from torturous pain. well, tattoo art at least.

The colors have particular meaning so it's not like I could change them and have it mean the same.

For the ignorant, what do they mean exactly? Ya'll need to start a Blazers Tattoo club. Who was the first one here to get one @HCP? PS I like the tilt of the first one you posted actually.

UNTAPER THE PINWHEEL!!1!1!!

J/K

I think it will be cool. If it were me (it isn't), I think I'd do a trial run with a temp, if for nothing else than to test out size, location, taper, tilt and hue. But if you've got all that figured out: Enjoy!

So the blue, pink, white, pink, and blue in that order are the stripes of the transgender pride flag.

Question...why not just get those colors on a flag tat and use Blazer colors for the pinwheel? I'm just curious....not criticizing your multi colored pinwheel but to my eyes....it's sort of out of context...not that that's at all important

Forget the haters. Get what you want.

If you want to combine two things that are important to you, go for it. I have seen weird rasta versions of the pinwheel as well.

An alternative version could be the pride flag with the pinwheel in the middle?

Portland skyline + Blaze + Blazer pinwheel + blue & pink LASERS =

I think you just found crandc's new tat.

I do harbor the superstitious suspicion that, if I do get a pinwheel tattoo, the team will fold in five years or less.

Thanks for educating me, and compelling me to educate myself.

The Transgender Pride flag was created by American trans woman Monica Helms in 1999,[4][5] and was first shown at a pride parade in Phoenix, Arizona, United States in 2000.[6]
The flag represents the transgender community and consists of five horizontal stripes: two light blue, two pink, and one white in the center.
Helms describes the meaning of the transgender pride flag as follows:

"The stripes at the top and bottom are light blue, the traditional color for baby boys. The stripes next to them are pink, the traditional color for baby girls. The stripe in the middle is white, for those who are intersex, transitioning or consider themselves having a neutral or undefined gender. The pattern is such that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, signifying us finding correctness in our lives."[

A few reasons, some cheeky, some very personal.

1 - I wanted to combine two things very important to me, of who I am, of what I am, in a way that is coded (i.e., not everyone will instantly understand it, but will signal meaning to those who already know)
2 - I wanted a conversation starter; a pride flag is too direct, and a pinwheel is too common... combining them makes it mine.
3 - I hate how boring a flag looks. It's just a rectangle. There's no motion or action to it
4 - I like the notion that I am blazing a trail for other trans people who come after me. One version of this tattoo would have trail above the pinwheel and blazer beneath it in the rip city font.

Tattoo removal is pretty easy nowadays.

Seriously, get any tattoo of any design that you want.

Pretty sure it will be unique and I can't say that for most. I really like those cutaway calf muscle/robot mechanical type things people get but they're everywhere.
