I know the possibility of Nash was posted before; but I wanted to post this trade idea again. The reason is I believe Phoenix would love to get "Childress's contract" off the books. This deal will almost guarantee we will have 0 cap room to get a marquee free agent; but being honest; will we even have a shot at one?
Here is the deal:
Nash and Childress for Felton, Matthews and Babbit
I think Nash will stay in Portland and can give us 3 very solid years. Look at what Kidd has done in Dallas. When you have great B-Ball IQ; you can stay in the league for a long time.
Nash would punish teams for daring our guards to shoot; while they bunker down on Aldridge. Also, can you imagine the amount of lobs Aldridge will get with Nash in the game? And talk about our fast break baskets too.
Childress is guaranteed for 3 more years. If Wallace does leave town, we have either a starter at SF (Childress) or move Batum to starting 3; while having Childress be the back up 3.
So if this deal is made; this is what I expect the line-up to look like.
PG: Nash, SG: Batum, SF: Wallace, PF: Aldridge, Center: Camby
Reserves: PG: Nolan Smith / Crawford, SG: Crawford / E. Will, SF: Childress / Batum, PF: Craig Smith / Thomas, Center: Thomas / Aldridge
The more I think about this deal; the more I like it.
