My niece/Goddaughter and one of her siblings both have significant developmental issues. I guess it's cool to make fun of "retards" but not to make fun of auto-immune diseases? I'm not going to be all "holier than thou" because I drop the "retard" word on occasion (usually in reference to posters on this board). But if someone is cool dropping "retard" and what not, I don't think they should expect others to tread lightly regarding diseases/unfortunate circumstances that they or their family has to deal with.
