I guess the first place I would point to is that poor black students today have a better opportunity for scholarships than poor white students according to a study I read over the summer.
Or more accurately, poor black students are given a better chance at going to school now than they have had in the past, whereas white students still have access to the same scholarships and financial aid they've had access too for many many many years.
Black people complained, and rightfully so, that they weren't be represented in tv commercials, so now they have to have a black person in them, but no one complains about sports and not having enough whites in them.
"Have to have a black person in them"? You mean they actually make commercials that more accurately represent our nation as a whole? Those bastards!
But really? the fact that the MAJORITY of TV stars are white isn't enough? Or that most news casters are white? Or that movie stars are white?
Look at the cast of Modern Family. There is 3 minorities, and the rest are whites.
Look at breaking bad. How many of them are a minority?
Look at the ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News and MSNBC, how many of their MAIN broadcasters/shows are minorities? Hell, look at Fox's lineup. How many of them are minority vs white?
Look at the movies that come out. How many of them are starring white people vs minorities?
Is this really a concern for you?
My sons little league was forced to give a black family a reduction in it's fees because they couldn't afford it, but did not offer the same for the white family right behind them, saying that the black family would sue for discrimination.
Did the same white family 'right behind them' have the same income levels?
Did they actually for it and request it, or just assume it wasn't going to given?
A black police officer approached me at a mall that is in a shitty part of town to tell me I shouldn't be there. I asked if the people in this area are allowed to go to the mall by my house, and he laughed and said "of course" I said then I should be allowed to go the this mall without any trouble. He escorted me out of the mall "for my own safety" because black people were complaining I was there.
anecdotal evidence is always fun. Did someone chase you out of the neighborhood, call you a racial slur, and then shoot and kill you and claim it was in self defense?
Or the fact that I am looked at as the devil for things that happened over 100 years ago simply because I am white
Who has said that? You are either deliberately making a straw-man, you're just incredibly dense. And since I've read more than 3 sentences you've written, I know you're not dense.
Do not confuse accepting that the horrific behaviors of the past have an impact on how society as a whole treats people today with you being a "devil".
You playing the victim is laughable.
