Sometimes you need to learn to shut the fuck up. Especially on social media.
I applaud Morey for speaking up in support of the demonstrators in Hong Kong. The NBA has gotten downright embarrassing. They let their coaches (Popovich and Kerr) say despicable things about the U.S. president, but they get all upset about a GM tweeting in favor of democracy in another country. Really?? Are you kidding me?

I would encourage everyone to educate themselves on China as much as you can. With their emergence, this won't be the last issue in regards to China. I would encourage talking to a mainlander, someone from Taiwan, and someone from Hong Kong - of course be tactful and just listen (keep your opinion out of the conversation if you want to maintain the relationship...just my suggestion). You will learn a lot and the views will all be vastly different.

“Keep your opinion out of the conversation” Says quite a bit.

Clicking through different sports talk shows on the radio today and one was saying that Lebron made his statement because he's worried about his Space Jam 2 movie not being cleared to be released in China.

That makes sense.

I wonder since Lillard is in the movie if he is going to get drawn into this drama?

I can see Lillard speaking his mind and not putting up with Lebron's BS. I wonder just how big Lillard's role in the movie is? If he does say something Lebron doesn't like I wonder if his role is small enough that he can be edited out?

I was surprised Lebron said anything, the reports were the players were upset they were put in a bad position. So why he thought talking would make their position better I have no idea...

My guess is Dame isnt going to say much.

I know I said Id bow out of this but its so fascinating to watch this unfold.

I had some computer science classes with a couple mainland Chinese students at Portland State about 20 years ago. They refused to talk about their country's politics. I got the feeling that the Chinese had spies making sure that their students studying in the United States toed the line.

Dang! James can't avoid hoof in mouth!
How is anyone surprised?

I think that was a good response from Terry
Probably the best one from a player or coach so far. Still left some things unsaid but I think we all get it... Its a huge step up from saying Morey was uneducated on the subject...

I genuinely believe Lebron doesnt even know what he said. I dont think understands the situation. Which, of course, is rich since he says Morey tweeted about something he doesnt know enough about.

And James is always super calculated with everything he says.
