Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Random comparisons about players that most have never watched much is weird to me. But in the spirit of draft talk, keep it coming.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

from ESPN.

Cleveland is actively pursuing multiple picks deeper in the first round, as are Portland, Houston and Charlotte.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Isn't Enes Kanter just obviously the white Al Jefferson? Actually, anyone remember the Ukraine Train? He kind of reminds me of him.

Sure I do, especially since he was a Sonic after Cleveland. He was so massive that it slowed him down. He could get light on his feet but not often. He would have been better at 40 pounds lighter.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

This is probably nothing, but I do find it interesting that there is no video posted by the Blazers on Norris Cole, yet there is on just about every other player. Coincidence? Just an omission? You can see him working out against Josh Selby in his video....

Apparently Cole has looked good in workouts...

Not sure I quite believe this yet, but Minnesota is apparently telling NBA teams that they are taking Enes Kanter #2 over Derrick Williams.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

in other words...

"CLE...what are you going to give me to move up from 4 to 2?"

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Canzano said that Faried is telling people that he wants to be a Blazers -- fits Nate McMillan's style perfectly.

Y! Sources: Minnesota has decided to fire coach Kurt Rambis, but will wait until after NBA Draft to make it official.

Good news for D-Williams and Rubio.

So he's good setting up in a corner and waiting for 20 seconds?

So he's good at guarding point guards off switches?

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

What day is the draft? Tomorrow or a week from tomorrow?

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

I like Faried, but is he really what this team needs? Another player who cannot create for himself and\or has offensive deficiencies?

Isn't that POR BIGGEST problem right now? No one outside of Aldridge and a 1 out of every 4 or 5 games Roy who can consistently score?

I know Nate loves defense and hustle, but somebody just MIGHT want to tell him that in order to WIN the game you have to outscore the opposing team.....

You're better off trying to address that need via trades and free agency if you can. If Faried is the best talent left on the board when we pick, then that's the safe way to bet for a team that is all of sudden starting to look very old and very thin. Drafting for need in this situation will come back to haunt this team.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

I am not convinced he would be the best talent on the board even if he was there at #21....

BREAKING: I was told by a trusted league source today at NBA Draft media day that Bismack Biyombo has a medical red flag with his back.

Well, I guess we're drafting him then.

Fine then, but he does one thing at an elite level -- rebounding -- that translates almost directly to the next level. That trumps a helluva lot of the dross that seems to compose most of the draft after the top 7.

Andy Katz is saying that GS really wants Jimmer with their pick. That has to mean either Ellis, or Curry must go, right?

Jimmer and Curry would be devastating if they got even a semblance of a low-post threat that could defend a bit.
