Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Jimmer and Curry would be devastating if they got even a semblance of a low-post threat that could defend a bit.

He wouldn't stay on the floor for very long if you played those sieves together.

Devestatingly bad on defense? Yes I agree ... Even if they had a goalie type center he'd foul out in 10 minutes with all of the free trips into the lane opposing guards would get.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

how many times did we foul Tyson Chandler out against Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and JJ Barea?

If they had been wearing the scarlet and black, I can guarantee he would have fouled out a helluva lot more than he did.

Actually Kidd plays great help defense and understands how to funnel players in the zone that Dwayne Casey had them running, and even though neither Barea nor Terry are great defenders they at least give effort in that area and can be "pests" ... Curry doesn't try on D and Jimmer never did either at BYU and both are under 6'2". How do you think that's going to work out?

Also: Blazers have a couple offers, but they're in driver's seat. Batum not likely to be dealt.

so you think that Terry and Barea (both also 6'2" and under and "defensively questioned" throughout their careers) can be taught to give enough effort in Casey's system (granting that it's a good one), but there's no hope for Jimmer and Curry? I'm betting that if we had this question a year or two ago, you wouldn't have said that Terry/Barea were anything but horrible defensively.

Teams calling Sacramento about the #7 pick are being told it's already been moved. Problem is, no one knows to who, or for which player.

GeryWoelfel

Bucks appear to have deal with Sacamento for No. 7

Interesting.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Part of me hopes he blocked the Blazers somehow.

As long as it's a Hedo Wife-style block of the Blazers, that would be fine by me :)

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

PA would have vetoed it probably because I am sure they had to give up an asset to get an asset

So basically this just tells me we aren't to serious about upgrading, because not adding Batum doesn't seem likely to get all that great of piece back.

The Bobcats will have the 7th and 9th picks in the draft tonight as part of the deal, source says.

Now that Cho doesn't have a psycho micro-manager like Paul he's finally unleashed to make moves.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

SpearsNBAYahoo: UConn guard Kemba Walker has a minor knee issue that is causing concern with draft approaching, sources say.

...

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Minor knee issue? That settles it, he is destined to be a Blazer. :)

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

Not at all. But part.

I think he goes Biyombo, Thomson

no business like cho-business. RT @mtokito Rich Cho now has the 7th, 9th and 19th pick if reports of Bobcats-Kings-Bucks deal are right.

...

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

I don't trust any Oregonian staff member (Tokito) to get any part of any deal correct. Need a better tweet.

how come i keep getting the feeling the blazers will not make a single trade and instead "draft and stash" their two picks....

Truer words my friends....truer words

Nuggets & Blazers have had dialogue about a Raymond Felton-Andre Miller swamp, but source says "nothing hot." Keep an eye on Felton tonight.
