You draft and make trades to get the best 12 man lineup you can. This isn't like building a fantasy team and you should have an eye towards making a team that can actually play together. After it is over, you'll set your rotation and you can justify why your team is good.

As soon as all of the teams are filled, then the draft order can be determined.

I told ZAE that if there is enough interest, I'll him run a second draft. So if we run out of teams, please still post in this thread that you are interested and we work on draft #2.

Here is a rough copy of the rules:

The draft will start as soon as we fill up all the teams and it will be in the "GM Drafts" forum. There will be a randomized draft order of 12 rounds (snake 1-30, 30-1). Trades must be equal in numbers of players/picks, that way each team ends up with no less/more than 12 players. Active NBA players and 2008 draft picks are the only players eligible to be selected, no international players. You can build your team however you'd like, you choose to obey the salary cap, or not, go young or go with the vets etc. After the draft we will have a set of playoff threads where we will vote for the winners, we will take chemistry into consideration. We'll start with a 6 hour pick limit, if you fail to make your pick in that time frame you will be skipped. If you miss one pick we will automatically skip your next pick, if you miss 3 in a row you will be replaced (picks 1, 2, 3 and 28, 29, 30 will get two chances). During draft please PM the poster that picks after you to notify them that it is their turn.

No point system. This is about putting together a team and justifying why you've done a good job and have one of, if not the best team.

then there is a playoff system where people vote for who they think should win the division/make the playoffs, and then advance in each round, right?
