The Rockets ran Royce White out of town and he was laughed at the whole time while dealing with severe anxiety and trying to transition to the NBA. He is the one that brought this issue to the forefront. Now he didn't do himself any favors by the way he communicated, but that is also probably a big part of his mental health issues as well. Iowa State was able to make it work for the season he played there, so it can be done.

Just curious to me what changed to make the league embrace mental health now. It's a great thing, maybe Royce was just a few years too early.

That was not entirely the case. He did travel on planes while at Iowa State and was willing to with Houston. He wanted certain language in his contract about mental health and they refused.

He did and was approved to travel by ground transportation if needed with Houston. It was other issues about who would make the decisions about his mental health and the environment he was in that he went back and forth on. He did a few interviews recently and claimed he is a top 5 player in the world. Those kinds of comments don't help.

Yeah, that makes sense.
Rondo is pretty clearly "on the spectrum" if you ask me. I think people assume that you can't be an athlete who is ASD and that's why a lot go undiagnosed.
