Shams sounds depressed.
someone should hook him up with a fresh batch of Toradol

Warriors are facing a 186M luxury tax bill for a team 5 games under .500. Without changes at the deadline, they could pay 351M for this year's roster, end up in the lottery, and give their pick to Portland. Toradoll Justice

Guys that are probably off-limits in a trade now: Jonathan Kuminga and Cam Whitmore.

He is playing pretty well this year despite it being the regular season. So who did he piss off this time?
Well if you read some of the posts here supposedly Spoelstra is a bad coach and only rode the coattails of great players to win anything so I would assume Spo wants him gone.

I posted this in the Malcolm trade thread but it's probably more applicable here:

If this team keeps this roster intact they are basically directionless. Keeping starting level guys who would significantly contribute to playoff wins now and aren't young enough for their value to increase is not what a rebuilding team does. Losing as many fucking games as we have and will continue to is not what a competitive team does.

I just really hope that those of you who expect nothing or very little are wrong. Joe once explained his trade deadline philosophy, it was either explaining trading away CJ, Norm, RoCo and Larry or it was explaining trading away Josh but he said that he felt that if the team wasn't ready to compete in the playoffs (contend) then it had to maximize draft assets and try to secure the best pick possible. I really hope Joe hasn't lost this understanding which is far more important now than it was when we had a superstar to build around.

If this dude tanked and traded away pieces that helped us win when we had Dame but now that we don't holds onto those same types of pieces, it will make zero sense to me and I'll be furious because this team will be rudderless or maybe we'll have a rudder not being used because the guy in charge will have shown he's asleep at the wheel.

If the offers are crap, I don't see any reason to make the trades. Wait until the offseason. If nobody is willing to give us a first for MB, keep him.

I agree, if the offers are crap there's no absolute need to trade them. I just hope Joe isn't too high on Jerami and Malcolm in particular but at this point I hope he's not too high on anyone on this roster. I like our young guys... like the guys who are in their rookie or sophomore seasons but other than those guys I wish Joe was aggressively shopping the rest. I know he isn't so I'll settle for him taking good returns for Jerami and Malcolm.

If Joe says there weren't any good offers or we just really need them on the roster right now, I'll be pissed because I didn't really believe him when he said that about our picks and young players during his time while we had Dame... so it's hard for me to believe there isn't solid value for solid players like Jerami and Malcolm right now. Right now it's just wait and see though. 8 days from now we'll know a lot more.

LMAO. Going from finals to not getting Dame, to trading for Terry Rozier, to trading Jimmy Butler.

There is no franchise that deserves this more than Miami.
It would be absolutely epic if Joe swooped in there and picked him up. Just for the hate it would create.

Come to think of it. Brogdon, Simons, Butler Grant and Ayton with Walker, Tisse, and Scoot/Camara/Sharpe backing them up might actually be a pretty decent team?

That pretty much tells me we turned down 3 seconds for RWIII.

I would agree with that valuation.
I'd take 3 seconds for him, personally. I don't have much faith in his health at all. I'd say once bitten twice shy, but it's more like 75 times bitten at this point.

That being said, 2 of the 2nds are this year, and we have little use for two MORE 2nds this year, so that could have always been an issue as well.

4 seconds this year is useless to us. I'd rather gamble on Williams. 3 seconds is not the difference maker if it doesn't work out.

I'd take a late first.

I seriously doubt that any team would be willing to trade a 1st for Timelord. Really seems like his has degenerating cartilage.

IDK, but if a team could stash him for a playoff run he's a legit difference maker.

Not saying they would, especially right now. I'm just saying it's worth the gamble because even if in the 80% chance it doesn't work out, I am not going to be upset we passed on 3 second rounders.

Does a Grizzly need a big contract extension? Sending off Adams in a payroll slash seems like weak stuff.

Memphis will be, or at least would have been, well over the tax line next season when Bane's max kicks in. Dumping Adams shaves 12.6M off of next season's payroll

speaking of Memphis...they may be getting close to a full tank mode and could challenge the Blazers for 5th in the lottery...assuming the Blazers don't catch Toronto. Look at the Grizz injury report:

I really like Adams, I would have given up 3 seconds to stash him as a backup center for next year.
