I'm the type of guy who believes that an average Joe would make a better President or could be a CEO of a large company.

In this case, no fucking way. I wouldn't let you sub out my yard work to HCP because you'd send him to the wrong house.

You're right. You've got the job.

Now, max out that unstoppable front line of Meyers and Sideshow Varejao.

I think Neil did a pretty good job yesterday given that he kept the entire core together. To get a future 1st, a future 2nd, and an improvement at your emergency backup PG spot all for a future 2nd and money you had to spend anyway seems like a win. I think he as done very well drafting and trading for bargain players who could fill a spot as well as some solid mid-value players.

The two things I do have a bit of an issue with is the continued trend of losing so many players for nothing and the players he's tried to sign to big deals. Thank goodness Hibbert and Kantor went elsewhere but can you imagine if we had been stuck with those two? Even Hawes at the mid-level has been a bust.

As for players leaving, Aldridge, Lopez, Matthews, Freeland, Wright, Afflalo, and now likely Henderson, Kaman and possibly Leonard. That is a TON of players in 2 years that Neil could recieve absolutely NOTHING for. I get that there were circumstances but that is still the reality of it and there were certainly signs about Aldridge for some time. Assets are one thing but if you aren't able to get anything for them over and over again, that is one area I would at least submit is questionable.

This is trolling right? Should I add a new name to my ignore list?

Eastoff won't see this cuz I'm numero uno on his ignore list. Somebody quote me so he sees my post. Happy Friday, ya bastard!

FAMS!

It's how the Clippers were run for decades. High draft pick in, gets ruined by injuries and the team attitude, garbage out after about 3 years. I always say that Olshey learned his craft with the Clippers, and may run our team the same way, satisfied with the ins equaling the outs. I'm not sure, just watching for similarities.

Moved to OT.
This doesn't really seem reasonable. Sure the thread title is negative and inflammatory, but it's still about the Blazers. Are we so limited by being the official Blazers forum that fans can no longer make threads on the main page expressing anger at the front office over strategies with which they disagree?

I think the problem with the thread is it is full of responses like these:

I'll have what HE'S drinking!

Ban hammer

Is that a problem with the thread or with the respondents? So the guy has an unpopular perspective. He's also had an unpopular perspective on Varejao, MCW, Barton, T-Rob, Oden, Lawson. Should all the threads he starts based on opinions with which nobody agrees be moved to OT?

The title and the responses. If the thread were taken seriously, I'd have left the title edited and in the main forum.

Now the thread is about it being moved :)

So, mob mentality rules. OK, good to know.

There have been plenty of threads that stayed on the main page as long as the title was edited.

I recall that being the only rule the Trail Blazers requested. No cuss words in the title.

I agree the OP has gone a bit loopy lately but if his is moved then who's else will?

We could have worked a loophole here Denny. An ass is a donkey.

"Neil can shove that up his donkey!" is perfectly clean front page material.

I hear you, but there was literally zero substance to this thread.

We all moderate the forum a little different, there is no instruction manual. Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we don't. I'm guessing less then 1% of posts and threads on here get deleted, moved, or edited, which is far less than what happens in other forums. That shows that we very much support free and open discussion.

I agree with Denny that the thread needed something done with it. Personally, I would have copied the thread title into the body of the post and then merge/bury the thread in with one of the many Olshey threads. Not sure if that would have been better or worse. Merging threads upset people almost as much as moving them. Hell, I received complaints this week about not merging threads.

Absolutely. His other threads on MCW and the like fit the bill as well though.

I don't run this place (and not interested in doing that) but it was move or edit imo, not both.

Don't worry about it; it's all good. I'm sure the forum is better as a whole when the undesirable elements are removed from the general population. You know, sort of a thematic cleansing as a forum solution.
