Yep, which is why I'm perfectly OK with Martin. He wouldn't be starting and won't be tasked with guarding the Durants and Hardens of the world. That's why we have Batum and Matthews.

BNM
I'd be pretty happy getting either one of them, for sure. I'd just like a little bit of defense available from the spot. If not, not a HUGE deal. But if we had to give up the same to get either player, I'd prefer Afflalo, personally.
A weird thing I noticed with Martin's shot chart, he does most of his shooting on the left side of the court. Has for a while. I know as a bench player, he won't be playing starter's minutes with Aldridge, but seems like could be potential fit conflict there. Or, means nothing! Who knows. Just found it odd

Question...

Would Kevin Martin be better than having Mo Williams?

If your answer is yes, then Kevin Martin would be a much better version of Mo And still have a decent bench of Kaman, Blake, CJ, Freeland and Leonard

Tough part in comparing the net production between the two, of what they got and what they gave up, is Kevin Martin is almost by rule hidden on to the worst of the 3 wing options when he is playing defense. Afflalo is generally going to be on the best wing player. So if both were to play OKC, Afflalo would spend most of his time on Westbrook or Durant, and Martin would likely shadow Roberson around the court.
I don't buy that at all. Chandler would generally be getting that responsibility.

BEIBS!!!!!!!

I'm going with Laimbiebs after that foul on Floppen.

chandler is more 3/4, afflalo 2/3. And afflalo is a better defender.

Edit: That is to say, it depends on the player often, but afflalo is never hidden from an assignment

The Bulls are the only team that worry me... They have the Kings pick (top 10 protected) and young dudes.

Hey if the bulls get Afflalo we can go get kevin Martin!

Technically calling and offering afflalo for Lillard + aldridge = discussing trade

Ya I'm sure wes is gonna leave Portland to go to the Knicks

@AlexKennedyNBA: The Nuggets want a first-rounder for Wilson Chandler (just like they want a first for Arron Afflalo). Clippers, Blazers have shown interest.

Okay, do you pass up 15 mil a year for 11ish? That 4 mil is a big deal and for all we know New York could grab Marc Gasol too. Wes would be a bigger star, expand his brand, be in an easier conference and make more money.

I wouldn't even be mad if he left for that.

Portland can offer him more money than anybody else, and they will. Allen won't mind.

None of our FAs are going anywhere. Unless we just completely collapse and miss the playoffs.

I hope to God we wouldn't match a huge deal like that for Wes. If he wants something bigger than what Batum got, you have to let him go imo. I'd cap him at 12mil, give him a 4/48 by the end of that contract he'd be 32 and likely beaten down because of his style of play.

I even think 12 mill might be a little much.

I'm not putting a limit on Wes. He's too important. He is the heartbeat of the team.

He also doesn't strike me as the type to choose money over winning, loyalty, or comfort.

I wonder if the plan may be to wait out Denver. If they want a 1st rounder for both players then Denver may get it for one and not the other. That's when Olshey may make his move. When they are desperate we get the other one and not have to include the 1st rounder.

Their advanced stats are mediocre but Chandlee and Afflalo are two-way players.

Or do you want a legit scoring threat in the mold of a Jamal Crawford in Kevin Martin?

Bench scoring is the biggest need IMO.

Have you not been listening to Charles Barkley at all? Jk :)

I want the two-way players. Defense is important in the playoffs.

Scoring is nice but what good is 10 ppg in the playoffs on .350? In the playoffs you need as many two way players as you can get.
