I think it may be a good thing if we dealt this pick for an established younger vet. Right now Neil's draft record is looking harsh. Lillard was already our guy before Neil even accepted the job.

CJ is a 9 PER in his first two seasons so far and looks as green as a teenager. I wasn't expecting a four-year guy to look this lost.

Need I even touch on Leonard?

Passing on Gobert stings - 21 PER with an insane 7 blk% in his first two seasons.

My point is - package the pick for a Monroe/Wright/I.Thomas!

CJ is a classic tweener. If he was 6'6 he'd be amazing, but he's not athletic enough to be a dynamic lead guard, but he's not a point guard.

He was my 1A on draft day. :-/

My 1B is already elite at getting under the skin of opponents - Steven Adams.

Every other game some guy is pushing or throwing an elbow at Adams. He's the modern day Bill Laimbeer.

Bro, as much as I would love to entertain the idea for Monroe, losing his bird rights would be a big mistake.

Even trading Batum for Monroe still wouldn't help because we would only have 8 mil to offer. We don't have the cap space to keep Monroe this summer

At least his free agent signings have been pretty good (though he did try to sign Hibbert. Was Leonard really Olshey's pick? Seems that if we ding him for Meyers we should give him credit for Damian since they were taken in the same draft.

CJ had a bad shooting night with his bum hand, but this season, he's been shooting about 40% from 3, and we know he's a smart guy with ball handling skills. He still may come around.

Pretty sure he's responsible for both picks.

Can't be mad at Olshey going after Hibbert... i don't think anyone saw him turn this bad...

Throwing out ideas I'd be on the phone with the tanking Sixers and offer the 2015 pick with CJ for KJ McDaniels.

He's a RFA this summer and has incredible defensive potential - opponents are shooting 31% when guarded by KJ.

I was impressed with McDaniel. He has a very old school feel.

He's aversging 1.6 BPG as a 6'6" SF!

Though, he did have a Bill Russell-esque 8blk% at Clemson. He has the knack, also guards the 3pt shot very well - opp FG: 30%

Olynyk sure would nice in a Blazer uniform... Great PF coming off the bench.

I won't lie I haven't watched him play much at all, with no league pass it's impossible to watch philly. Look how high he got in that video! I'm a big CJ fan and I know he hasn't hit his full potential. I might make that trade, but Philly is playing with house money. They are content to sit around and lose while they evaluate long term potential and collect High lottery picks.

You cant credit Neil with Leonards pick and take away the Lillard pick.
In hindsight its an obvious pick but there were two elite prospects still on the board in Barnes and Drummond so it wasnt a no brainer pick.

I just don't see how someone could watch Leonard and think, "that guy is going to be amazing."

Stopppp, he doesn't need to be brought into every single thread. We get it, you like the Zags, and Olynyk is at times a decent player. I think most people can agree with that.

The good thing about being as good as the Blazers are...
Is you're allowed time to develop guys to play in your rotation.
The bad thing is guys like Leonard need playing time to get better.
I don't get the same feeling with CJ.
I get the feeling the game is a little too fast and will slow down with age.

At this time I wouldn't trade anyone due to the Blazers are winning. Ride with this roster to the playoffs.

Add passing on MCW, Giannis, Snell and Hardaway Jr to the mix. I think the Blazers were thinking they were too smart for the room and were going to strike it big with another Lillard (small conference player with little national respect).

That being said, I have a feeling the Blazers stand pat on their rotation since they are seeing they can hold down the fort in Lopez's absence. Not a bad idea since this next draft is going to pretty damn solid even in the 20's.

CJ is going to be good. He just needs to stay healthy.

The draft is and always has been a crap shoot. See Wesley Mathews for confirmation. Damian Lillard is a tough act to follow. Once we got him, it's hard to be objective about CJ or Meyers instantly having NBA skills. They don't yet. Projects are projects and we're really talking about the bottom of the bench here. CJ and Leonard are why Neil went out and got Blake and Kaman. It makes sense.

Snell? Come on.... Giannis would be pretty awesome to have right about now though.

Winning a championship would be the best way to build a dynasty here and add roster pieces here and there. I think that's the plan. Stotts doesn't want to be exclusively a player development coach. He wants to win now! Giannis is a rare talent and that's a team that really needed a spark.

I swear, if someone brings up MCW again I'm gonna go crazy. He made a statement saying he didn't want to be here. Why pick a guy who says that? That's right, you don't...

Hindsight I'd rank my board for that pick as:

1) Steven Adams
2) Rudy Gobert
3) Kelly Olynyk
4) CJ McCollum

Fwiw, this is how I had it on draft day:

1) CJ McCollum
2) Steven Adams
3) Rudy Gobert

With Giannis and Larkin on my radar.

MCW is also shooting worse than Nic Batum this year...

MCW: 15 PER with a 26 USG%

Yuck. I can see why they tried to trade him last summer.
