Nets and Suns

Offensively i think we are very similar to the Suns. PGs-Kidd and Nash (Both crazy at assists) SGs- VC and either Raja Bell or Barbosa sometimes (Scorers) SFs- Richard Jefferson and Grant Hill or even Marion (Driving scorers who can shoot) PF/C- Sean Williams and Amare Stoudemire (Basically the splitting image of each other)
The only odd ball we have is Josh Boone who can also get out on the break

Basically what I'm trying to say is why the &@*# can't we score like Phoenix is we have almost the same roster and IMO a better roster (If everyone is healthy and playing up to their potential)

If I'm the coach I sit Sean Williams ass down n make him watch tapes of Stoudemire over n over n over cuz at this point everytime he goes up to score he hesitates and isn't comfortable with it yet. He has to see how Amare just grabs the rock n goes straight to the hole wit it.

Also defensively I think we can be better than Phoenix also!

What?? I would take VC and RJ over Bell/Barbosa/Hill and Marion anyday.. We also have Boki commin off the bench, Wright can hit if hes on that night, Allen just had a big game the other day and can shoot, Krstic will be back, Sean Williams can shoot better than Stoudemire if he's confident enough and Marcus will find his stroke. Also Kidd can find an open shooter way better than Nash can.

What are you basing these statements on?

I strongly disagree with every single thing in this post, but I'll gladly discuss it rationally if you give me some clue how you arrived at these conclusions.

I read yesterday that when RJ bulked up to play the 4 ala Marion, he lost he's hops and quickness. Only this year has he lost that bulk and regained some of that quickness. We won't see RJ as a starting 4 for the Nets. I wouldn't compare us with the Suns, that have a team built around their bread and butter and that's Nash. The Nets have not built they're team around Kidd. We don't have enough shooters to even compare with the Suns. Plus Amare is light years ahead of Williams at this point. Then you toss in a 4 like Marion.

I think it would be pretty even between RJ and Marion, Amare obviously would have the match up advantage against Sean, but having Boone off the bench to throw at Amare would be quite useful.

If Barbosa is considered a 3 point shooter, couldn't J-Kidd count too? Also Boki is a shooter, that is practically his entire game.

JKidd, VC, RJ, Boki vs. Bell/Barbosa/Hill/Marion

Phoenix would get the edge in 3 point shooting, but there are other areas that NJ would be better.

If Barbosa is considered a 3 point shooter, couldn't J-Kidd count too? Also Boki is a shooter, that is practically his entire game.

Agreed, Marion does a few things better than RJ. Swap both players as SI has rumored:

Both teams get better in my mind. Diaw goes into the starting lineup, Hill becomes the 7th man behind Barbosa.

How did the Suns build around Nash and we didnt build around Kidd??? I still dont think Nash is on Kidd's level and I would take Kidd over any point guard in the league no matter how old he is. Just look at what he's done for the Olympic team he's still undefeated in Olympic play.

Nets are not even in the same ballpark as the Suns. Amare is a beast, we have no one like him. And one of the biggest differences is that Nash is a lights-out shooter who can also score on drives and Kidd, as great as he is, is a well-below avg. shooter and never scores inside anymore. The Nets from 3-pt this year have to be one of the worst in the league. Dumb thread. Maybe in 02-03 we were a little like the Suns, not anymore.
