I think you know what I mean.

The Knicks have a good chance to make the playoffs, and I think it's possible they could rank as high as the 5 seed. It's possible. But I think it's about as likely as the Nets advancing to the Finals. I wouldn't completely count it out, but I'm not holding my breath.

yea, but ya see, i hate the knicks. which means they'll suck, and they won't make the playoffs. they'll lose alot.

especially considering there's only 2 people who play defense on that squad.

Dre I'm usually in your corner but this time? No way in hell. There is no doubting the ability of this team. The problem in the mix. Too many ball hogs. Marbury, Crawford, Nate, Randolph and Curry have had strange no-pass policies in effect the last couple years. Marbury racks up assists but just as often prefers to dribble the air out of the ball like it owes him money. Eddy Curry will never be confused with Wes Unseld. Nate is...nate. And Randolph is a post scorer, not a ball handler or a passer.

You have a lot of guys in the starting 5 who need the ball to be effective, whereas David Lee and Baulkman, two guys who can be great without a single offensive play called for them (in the same way as Shane Battier) will have their roles marginalised with so much salary tied up with 3 players, since you'd be mad to sit those so called 'all stars' when they are earning almost as much as the entire Bobcats roster between them.

What are the odds of the 'cats racking up more wins than the knicks? I'm considering a small wager....

I guess I'm the last guy alive who stillhas faith in Marbury and Randolph.

I have faith in those two but with eddy it will complicate things. Honestly Marcus Camby instead of EC would be a better compliment to those two. I forsee a Lewis Hamilton/Fernando Alonso situation developing when Z-Bo is getting more ball and making more shots. Zach will try and make it work but Curry will sulk.

Camby would be a better fit, but Curry isn't the worst choice to have backing Randolph...even if Curry sulks he'll score when he gets the ball, its not like he does much else anyway. If that happened all you have to do is trade Curry and start Lee.

I expect to hear a Curry/Randolph beef this season. There are only so many shots to go around.

I'm waiting for the first travelling call on the Knicks when Curry and Randolph both refuse to let go of the ball

I expect to see that too.

They both want the ball, but only one can have it...

there's one way those two will make the history books.

here's another good one: the first time ever only 2 players on a team score.

I wish we had a rep system.

Will there be a fight in Practice ala Etan Thomas?

Oh right, eddy actually has to show up...

WE beat the Atlantic DivisoinChamps. We did not sneak into the 2nd round. We did it without Krstic. Now we've added Magloire and will have RJ, Krstic for a full season. WE've improved. This group, aside from Magloire has a camp under their belt. If healthy this group is a 50 win team. Celtics key is the players around them and Allen's healthy...again that is the question through out the league, health. Look what happened to the Wiz. The key to the Celtics is the point guard.

The 2005-2006 Nets were a 49 win team and a second round playoff team. Last season's team if healthy was a 48-51 win team, but still a second round playoff team.

The Nets are still who they are, a second round playoff team

Which it wasn't.

For a team who has been lacking up front players to match their wings, we really cannot stress how important it is that both starting big men on our team next year...weren't there last year.

the cavs were also a second round playoff team, but they made it to the finals.

cpaw is just a nets hater, even though he claims to be a fan.

A real negative nancy.

We are still a second round and out team. If you think we can beat the Raps again then think again. We might get the Cavs to a seventh game but lose ultimately. Celtics are more suited for the playoffs rather than the regular season, and the Pistons are still a top team in the East. I cant make a call on Miami but i'd say we are at the same level as them currently.

Why can't we beat the Raps again? We beat them without our current starting 4 and 5. I really can't stress that point enough. 40% of our starters are brand new.

1) They didnt have Garbo

2) Bargnani was hurt was he not?

3) No previous playoff experience before they faced us

4) They have improved

1) We didn't have Nenad

2) Bargnani was not hurt, he came back from his appendectomy the last game of the season and played every playoff game, including over 40 minutes twice.

3) Fair enough. Losing one playoff series doesn't do much for me in the experience factor, though.

4) We've improved (Mags)

My bad. I thought Bargs was hurt. I could have sworn he was hurt.

That was their first playoff series, even though we played great defense on Bosh anyone could tell he was rattled. We'll see by the season's end which is better. But imo, the Nets right now are a 45-50 win team and are not better than Toronto, Chicago, Detriot, and Boston if they gel well.

It doesn't matter, the Nets still got to their ultimate level last season in the playoffs.

You are putting way too much faith into Magloire. I don't see any upgrade on the roster with him unless you are comparing him to Ilic

I dislike the front office and what they have done this summer

How is calling the Nets a second round playoff team negative?
