Nets at 8th on contender

I would put them in front of Cavs and Bulls, but it might be because I'm a Nets fan and I have faith in them.

8th sounds about right. Besides the top three, the teams are basically on the same tier.

Bulls haven't gotten out of the first and the Cavs don't look like they solved their problems from last year.

The Bulls ahve also improved greatly over their team last year. Even though Ben Wallace is only one person, he really improves that defense a lot. He finally gives them a consistent post defender and will be very intimidating to those players who will try to score on the inside. Beyond that, PJ Brown gives us some consistent post offense, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, and Andres Nocioni will alll be improved this year. Overall, I don't see any glaring holes in the team outside of the fact that they are lacking a number one option, and that could change based on how consistent Ben Gordon is. They're deep, talented, and they're going to play some great defense, so what's there not to like?

I would put the Nets ahead of the Cavs.
