Real GM is reporting that the nets are warning season ticket holders that they may be sellers before the trade deadline. Talk about a chemistry project blowing up in your face. Sounds like they may be thinking about tanking and getting rid of a lot of they're old pieces. Not sure what those guys make or if the blazers could score anybody on the cheap, but thought I'd hang this piñata for debate.

Why would they "tank", though? I mean, it's one thing to say that they're going "be sellers" (probably a good idea for them, but they probably won't get a lot) or that they're going to "develop young players" (though they don't have a ton of talent to develop) or something, but losing to get a good draft pick is a bit moot when you don't own your own draft pick.

Tanking might be the correct term. But it sounds like they are looking to move in a different direction and desperation equals not great value for your talent. Yea I think they have way too many assets to tank but their players may be available for discount.

*might not

No one on that team worth trading for.

If you can get him on the cheap I think Mirza Teletovic would be a great pickup.

At 28 years old, he's a stretch PF that is shooting 41% from three. Has started two games the past few weeks and put up 15 PPG.

The reason why Stotts benched Robinson was for the lack of spacing -- Mirza is a perfect fit in this system and a total Stotts type of player.

I should've said that no one they want to trade is worth trading for.

I think Kirilenko would be a great one year rental for us and really bolster our bench defense. We could use him for 5-10 minutes a game against elite SF/PF types (Lebron, George, Melo, Durant) just to give them a different look.

The Russian owner probably feels bad for him, being on such a bad team.

Have they even had their entire starting 5 play together? Seems like first DWill was hurt, now Pierce and Lopez.

It's hard to fault on court chemistry without seeing them on the court, no?

Tanking in the East is Mission Impossible, they're going to make the playoffs no matter how many games they lose.

I would love to get Livingston for cheap. He doesn't give you the "wow" factor, but he's a true PG.

Call me crazy but I'd love to get a player like Reggie Evens on this team! Shaun Livingston wouldn't be a bad pickup either.

Jason Terry?

If Blazers have a win now mentality, I think Terry would bring more to the Blazers the next two yrs than CJ. Terry for CJ? (CJ goes into the rebuilding mentality for NJ)

Personally I don't do it. But then again, at 23-5 it's hard to want to make any changes.

Getting one Net would greatly improve our 2nd 5. Only Lopez or Deron would improve our 1st team, of course.

The Nets don't have a first round pick until 2019.

They can't even tank to improve their second round pick, their next one is in 2018.

"Tanking" isn't the right word, they could be "giving up" on the season to reduce payroll. Philly is $12 million under the minimum payroll so if Brooklyn traded them Paul Pierce for Lavoy Allen plus gave Philly $3million they would save something like $40 million of luxury tax.

Maybe they would trade AK47 for TRob or something. He would be one of their better young assets to lie to fans they are building for future seasons. If AK gets healthy we would have an awesome 6th man. Batum really struggles defensively against the larger SF.

Jason Terry?

Gosh I hope not. He is too old and a shell of the player that helped the Mavs off the bench in 2011. I'd rather give Mo or other backups on our team playing time than him. Plus he's injured, and paid $6 million next season.

I'd take Paul Pierce or KG off of waivers.

Can the Nets do that?

Wonder if they're stupid/desperate enough to take David Lee...

Someone 6' 10" or taller please. Preferably with NBA playoff experience

It is true they cannot tank. Atlanta can swap picks with them this year and then they owe either their pick or a worse pick from the Hawks to Boston. They will have a first round pick next year but they cannot trade that pick. Same with 2017.

Basically that team is in shambles.

We should milk them for Reggie Evans Andre Blatche and Kenyon Martin.

They played together at start of season? The beat Miami, with them I think.

KG fits that but his attitude would kill team chemistry. He's a dick.

Reggie is the only one I'd take of the three.

 that's beyond terrible. Have you even bothered to watch Terry this season?

6 PPG | 41 fg% | 9.3 PER | 36 years old

He's done.

Agreed. We can win now with CJ. We're currently winning without CJ or Terry.

Ok I looked it up again. Brooklyn doesn't have any first round pick in 2014, 2016 or 2018. The Nets get the worse of their 2015 or Atlantas 2015 pick. The Nets get the worse of their 2017 or Boston's 2017 pick.

Blatche would give us size and scoring off the bench.

He is one guy I wanted this offseason. With his low salary, I don't see why the Nets would be looking to give him up, unless they sent him along with a bad contract.
