<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Also a clarification on some numbers: Vince is guaranteed through 2011, ending salary of $17,522,375. There is a team option for 11-12 at $18,921,500, only part of which is guaranteed.
Nene is signed through 2011, ending salary of $11,360,000, with a
player option for 11-12 at $11,600,000. Don't know how much of the player option year is guaranteed.
Both are under contract, then, for at least one year beyond the summer of 2010 when the big FA market is expected to hit.</div>
Still makes no sense to move Vince for a guy with a longer contract than he has.
</div>
Oh I totally agree with that. I wasn't advocating the trade, just clarifying the numbers and terms.
I really want to see what this team can do with only one other minor move, Boki/Magloire/pick for Miller or Boki/Magloire for Cuttino Mobley. Heck, we might even be able to rent Sam Cassell for the rest of the season in a deal with the Clippers. I think because of the 'cancer' that Kidd created in terms of chemistry and team morale, the other players deserve a chance to try and blend with the new pieces to see how far they can go.

If we turn down Zach Randolph who isn't injury proned and has a shorter contract than Vince and instead grab Nene who is inury prone, overpaid, and has a potentially longer deal than the front office will lose all of the good will it's recieving from the Kidd trade.
Let me be clear I don't want Randolph either...but I would take him in a minute over Nene.
