QUOTE

With training camp now less than 10 days away, Sean Deveney of Sporting News and Marc Stein of ESPN take a shot at ranking the Eastern Conference’s off-season. No surprise: both say Boston wins hands down. The Nets, without a major deal or a sure-fire addition, rank ninth on Deveney’s list, fifth on Stein’s. Both think the Vince Carter extension and Mikki Moore/Jamaal Magloire switchout were pluses.

Pretty good articles here. I agree with almost everying they said.

Everyone underestimates the Nets in the off-season ranking, we will show that they are wrong.

Hey JarKid, what's up?

Show em what? That a team with VC can't win?

Sorry, just not very optimistic.

They're not underestimating us at all. Those evaluations are quite accurate.

They only remember Mikki Moore, but overlook the return of Krstic, and adding of Magloire, Malik Allen, Sean Williams.

SLAM said we will only be a 42-40 team.

If we get back to last season, how many people would say the signing of Mikki Moore will be a big impact?

With Jason Kidd, Magloire, Allen, and Sean, will be better than Mikki Moore who was helped by Jason Kidd.

Front Court: Jamaal Magloire, Sean Williams, Nenad Krstic, Jason Collins, Josh Boone, Malik Allen

Backcourt: Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Antoine Wright,Bostjan Nachbar, Robert Hite

tell me how sucking this team could be?

QUOTE (mynetsforlife)

Sucking? No. Not getting past the second round? Yes.

Point the reasons.

Without Nenad Krstic, and the lack of the depth in the front court, they could go 2-4 to the Eastern Conference Championship.

Now they are much better, I say will go to the ECF.

We don't know how Krstic will respond to his knee in the early part of the season. Will he be tentative? How mobile will he be? How much of a difference will his 10 lbs of added muscle really make? We have no idea what to expect from Nenad right now. It's all speculative.

Malik Allen is decent. But that's it. A nice veteran, but hardly an impact player. He won't get much time behind Collins and Boone, IMO.

And I highly doubt Williams sees much, if any, significant playing time this year.

All that really maters though, is that this team is built to make it to the 2nd round and the 2nd round only.

47 or 48 wins would be my prediction as well.

So, if you have so many question marks, why not make the conclusion when the season starts?

What if Nenad Krstic rehabs very well? What if Sean Williams plays very well?

Too many if, the big difference is that you look in the dark side, and I look in the bright side,

if this team could not get pass the second round, so what? Jason Kidd owns big money, he can go everywhere that he wants,

and he already showed himself by many awards, so don't get pissed off about this team by his success or failure.

If Krstic sucks then Sean Williams will play, If Sean Williams won't play, Krstic and Boone would be very good.

So in every case, you are still in the winning mode.

What didn't you notice about that? It's the advantage of the depth in the frontcourt. And it's the great comparison to last season.

It's all speculative man. You can think the team is going to be as good as you say they will because Nenad is coming back, but just because you think it, that doesn't make it true. We have no reason to believe Nenad will be effective the first few months of the season. Recovering from a torn ACL is no joke. That's not looking on the dark side. It's being realistic. After many off-seasons getting excitied and expeting so much from this team, it's all become tiring. It's time to be realistic about our team's limits. And our limit is, IMO, another 2nd round exit.

And I have no idea what your last two sentences are trying to convey.

if you mean it's all speculation, then you must have not read the news that Krstic feels no pain.

If Krstic feels pain, then you could say he will be bad next season in 90% ,

If he feels no pain, how could you still say he will still be in 90%?

And I didn't say howfar this team will go to, and I said they underestimate !

OK, you said they didn't underestimate, then SLAM said Nets is a 42-40 team, but you said Nets is a team with 47 wins,

and I didn't get really thrilled about the situation now, but you just get it all wrong.

At least he is not Greg Oden right now.

By your way, The pistons can not expect from Rodney Stuckey, and Affalo, they should be zero from every high estimate for the pistons in the off-season ranking.

yeah, I did, but after summer league, he have learned the experience, and after trainning camp he will be better.

And He is healthy, that's the big point.

JarKid, your optimistic look at this team is admirable, but off base. We're simply just not that good.

Sorry, what did I say to this team? Championship ? ECF Championship? No,

OK, maybe I am wrong, then I can tell you Jason Kidd will be gone this season,he is too old, and bad knees.Carter will suck,

RJ break his ankles again, Krstic will retire, too, due to his ACL, Sean Williams, Marcus Williams is a bust. Wright is the bust of the busts.

This team will be a the team withonly 20 wins and win the no.1 pick next season.

And Are you happy right now?

He's optimistic, just like me. I always go into a season thinking we will do great, and get far in the playoffs. It doesn't matter what everyone predicts, I always have faith in the Nets.

Nets will be good. Not great, good. Kidd will have a great season, as will RJ and Krstic. Frank will run too many isos for Vince, ultimately leading to our doom. If Vince plays with all his heart, every single damn game, then it's different. If he attacks the rim whenever he can, and shows people how good he can be on defense, then damn, we're a different team.

It doesn't matter if he feels no pain now. We still have no idea how he'll play. He hasn't played in any competitive game for months.

I wasn't agreeing with SLAM's record prediction. I've been agreeing with the fact that we will most likely exit in the second round, again. I don't care what our record is. I want a championship. And I highly, highly, highly doubt this team will win one.

And I won't be able to understand your last two sentences because they don't make any sense. I know english isn't your native language, and I think you type very well in light of that, but those two sentences are impossible to decipher.

Boone didn't start contributing until essentially the end of the season last year. We need contribution for the entire season.

And Williams is different than Stuckey and Afflalo. First off, they're guards and in a much different situation than Sean. Williams is raw. His offensive game is very unpolished. He may be a good shot blocker, but his defensive decisions need to improve. If you're expecting much of anything out of him, you'll most likely be disappointed.

Championship? Sorry, this team won't win anyone even in the Kidd or Post-Kidd era.

Championship is never the factor of whether they underestimate or not, they are the different story.

If you don't know what I said in the last two sentence, I don't care whether it's because of your comprehesion or my English ability,

but I could suggest you could PM ghoti for telling you what I mean, or ask your teachers or friends, maybe one of them could tell you the truth.
