Well I guess Houston would take Hite's spot but I think Thorn would want to keep him because he has a partially guaranteed contract and Houston won't.</p>

Won't Houston have a make good contract just like Hite? Sure it's a bit more expensive being a vet but they're similar in that manner. The only guarantee they're giving is to DA.</p>

You guys are not thinking dynamically. Just because there are 13 players with guaranteed contracts nowdoesn't mean the same 13 will have contracts on October 29. The Nets are trying to buy out Ilic, for example. Who knows what else could happen, is happening?</p>

Would Thorn be willing to sign Armstrong to a fully guaranteed contract and offer a make-good to Houston? Why not? Houston hasnt played in more than two years. No one knows whether his legs will hold up. He suggested in his ESPN interview that he may not want to train as hard in practice in order to conserve his strength. Armstrong played last year.</p>

The two of them would be signed to provide veteran presence and leadership as well as basketball skills. Remember, Frank indicated last week that whatever chemistry issues hurt the team last year still exists...whatever they are. Can't hurt to have two pros, one of whom--Houston--played with Kidd and Carter in the 2000 Olympics and has Finals experience.</p>

Definitely. I hope he really thinks about his decision. He could make a really positive impact here.</p>

I'd love to have Darrell here, i hope it works out. And I'm extremely happy the Nets are trying to make a move on this.</p>

love the pickup. we wont have to rush marcus back and marcus now gets to learn from DA and kidd. there is nothing better you can ask for than a solid vet bench player. he just makes us deeper especially when marcus comes back. hopefully we can move out Ilic soon</p>

Accoding to reports, he has already cleared waivers with no one claiming him. Supposedly he was in Jersey Wednesday for a recruiting pitch from Frank. Sounds like we got him with a 1 year vet minimum.</p>
