Nets on brink of acquiring Deron Williams!

Harris isn't a franchise-maker. I'm fine with Miller through this season and exercising his option. We can trade him next year.

I wonder what book our GM is enjoying today? I wonder if he is poolside, or curled up in front of the fire?

Can't opt out until summer 2012 if read it right. So NJ has a year and a half to build around him to convince him to stay . . . or trade him back to the west (Blazers). :D

i don't expect there to be anything resembling a season next year

Well I for one am glad the Blazers aren't jumping into the Utah Denver rebuilding pool this trade deadline.

We already leapfrogged Denver and Utah, but are still looking up at OKC, LA, Dallas and San Antonio. This team seemingly has no strategy to move up in the standing other than hoping every team in the West rebuilds. Not gonna happen.

I'm also good with keeping Andre around, but not cashing in on JPEC would be a failure. Hopefully they can at least come up with some value for Joel before the deadline (seems unlikely though).

Of all the trades that could have happen Derron Williams being moved was something I NEVER thought would happen.

I love the thought of Williams spending the playoffs on the outside looking in. The Jazz were smart to dump him before he pulled a Melo on them next year.

How do you, in your infinite wisdom, think our GM could/should have been involved here?

Now if Lopez could step his game up, I'm sure free agents would be interested in teaming up with him and Deron.

Nets went from Andre Miller to Deron Williams. Awesome.

Do you really think that was our strategy at the beginning of the year? Really? You think this season has gone according to plan?

Blazers should have beaten Utah to the punch and offered Deron Williams to NJ before Utah did. Heck we could have had Harris AND Favors

So the Blazers should have offered Deron Williams to New Jersey. I don't believe I've ever seen that tactic employed before.

To be honest, in the AM situation you were to keep Favors. Sure looks like a good thing now - but if he harnesses his talent in years to come - this might come to bite you in the rear.

Lopez is doing backflips. He will be fed like a goose bred for foie gras. I would actually prefer Williams to Paul if I had to choose. Deron is amazing.

Maybe we can hold onto 5th place now and play OKC in the playoffs. They have no answer to LAMONSTER! Although we have no answer to Westbrook/KD either...

Not at all. I thought Andre for Harris was our best potential trade option. Now it's off the table.

Oh ok that makes sense. I thought you meant it hurt us since Utah got stronger, haha.

I agree.

Have you ever seen a 6 on 5 play as Nate employed against the Celtics. Thinking outside of the box is what separates the innovators from the also-ran!

The west's talent keeps on getting diluted.

And it's about fucking time. It's been 20 years of running the gauntlet in the West while the East always had only a couple of elite teams. The first round in the East is a joke.

So Deron is going to kill him when he is fat enough?

Now, let's see the Lakers get Chris Paul for Blake, Fisher, and Luke Walton, and call it a day!

BTW, how fucked up must the situation in Utah be to lose their HOF coach and All NBA PG in a period of two weeks?

Think of the top tier PFs. I bet you can name at least 8-10. Not think of the top tier PGs. It's a short list with Williams sharing the summit.
