Pekovic is a great player, but he just signed a three year deal with Panathinaikos, so he won't be coming any time soon. Not to mention the fact that he should be gone by our 2nd round pick.

In Chad Ford's latest mock, he has Anthony Randolph slipping all the way to the Nets at #10 and Budinger slipping to them at #21. That'd be a hell of a lot of value in the first round for the Nets, getting a player at #10 who could go as high as #5 and a player at #21 that could go somewhere in the late lotto.

If Randolph's off the board and the Denver deal falls through though, what about the possibility of a trade for Charlie Villanueva. According to Milwaukee's Journal Times, Charlie V's being shopped around to "several" interested teams. Given the Nets' offseason activity so far, you've got to think they're in that equation.

The only player that fits that mold is Tim Duncan, and even he managed to be an all-pro.

Marcus will be gone, Boone will be in his 3rd year and shouldn't be considered inexperienced anymore.

Sean and 3 rookies wouldn't be too bad depending on the rest of the roster. If we need to depend on them night after night it would be a huge problem. Two of them should be the 12th and 13th players.

That's been my thinking all along. Right now, the Nets have six players 25 or younger: Harris, Krstic, Boone, Ager, MWilliams, SWilliams. Now it's possible some of those guys will go away, but not all of them. Every single one of the big guys in this draft, except for Lopez and Love, are projects.

I can see a Euro-Stash. I can see a trade: combining picks, combining a pick with a player, combining a pick with the $3.3 million TE, etc.

I love Ford's mock...if Randolph fell to us I'd be thrilled and if Budinger is available at 21 I'd be even more thrilled...this Dallas pick will be valuable...even if Budinger isn't available Nicolas Batum or CDR will be.

I don't know what the numbers are but there are some times when grabbing a foreign player in the second round can be had for 1st round good value since they sometimes need to be waited on since many times they have contracts overseas. Besides many of those drafted hardly ever pan out. But we at least have Krstic for every Illic.

Kobimel beat me to it. Also Pekovic made some comments saying about how he doesn't like the NBA which makes it sound like he doesn't really care to even come over.

The deal he got with Panathinaikos is worth about the same as the #1 overall pick would get, if I recall correctly.

Petrovic was a rare exception. How many booms are there compared to busts? I'm mainly speaking about big men. I can't stand European big men!!! They all just shoot and don't defend the rim!!! If they can shoot than they can shoot but that's usually all they can do until they develop 5 years down the line.

And even Petrovic took time to develop.

All non-european big men who play college basketball in the US guard the rim, can contribute immediately without needing time to develop and there are way more "booms" than "busts".
