The Nets will have the same players and keep producing the same results.
Even if this trade happens it does not turn the Nets into contenders.
The Nets franchise looks like a mess. The sign VC not because they believe he will help them win a chip or go deep in the playoffs but because they feel he will be profitable when they make their move.
The Nets are not expected to make a move till 2010. VC popularity among fans and as a recent polled showed among his peers has fallen as well.
It just doesn't make sense. I keep hearing this team is being kept because their is no profit in moving a losing team to a new city but the Nets are not exactly winners.</div>
that use to be the case but really w/ D-wade and CB4 and King James to be FAs by that time it would be a smart move all around.
</div>
The Nets had no chance at getting Wade, Bosh or Lebron... They are each restricted free agents, even if the Nets offered each one the max. (Which they each got), their team would have kept them.
Anyway, they weren't able to offer that kind of money in the first place. The most they could have offered to Lebron is about 8 mill per year, which he would have laughed at.
and if you are talking about when Lebron, Bosh and Wade can opt out. And be free agents for the 2010-11 season. Then I don't know what you are squabbling about, because the Nets have an team option for that season, which will definitely be exercised. (Carter 34 won't make 18 mill)
So the Nets will have cap space by the summer of 2010.
