Nets talking Jermaine O'Neal

The Nets had no chance at getting Wade, Bosh or Lebron... They are each restricted free agents, even if the Nets offered each one the max. (Which they each got), their team would have kept them.

Anyway, they weren't able to offer that kind of money in the first place. The most they could have offered to Lebron is about 8 mill per year, which he would have laughed at.

and if you are talking about when Lebron, Bosh and Wade can opt out. And be free agents for the 2010-11 season. Then I don't know what you are squabbling about, because the Nets have an team option for that season, which will definitely be exercised. (Carter 34 won't make 18 mill)

So the Nets will have cap space by the summer of 2010.

what will the Nets have by then to draw the attention of those type of players??? Those players are interested in championships. By that time Dwight Howard will be what Shaq was.

Also when D Wade can opt out Ben Wallace will be off the books. It's more likely he will go back to his home town than Jersey

Well, Mark Jackson just commented about this during the pregame. He said if he were in charge he would not make the deal for the reasons that the Nets would be giving up Vince Carter and a young point guard with great potential for the "damaged goods" that is Jermaine O'Neal. He finished off by saying "matter of fact, I would have my secretary not answer the phone anymore" when it comes to discussing this trade.

I guess if JON was traded for, he might not even be useful for this year, and his contract is only two years long.
