<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (soul driver @ Feb 14 2008, 12:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>yes, I wanted Miller on our team with Kidd...I'll take him without Kidd too. this would be a very good deal. A big improvment. There's no need for Mags at all anymore, and Miller is a step up from Boki. I really hope this goes through...</div>
Regardless of whether we have Kidd or Harris we should pursue this deal...throw in a first if we have to. Miller could be an amazing 6th man and potential replacement for Carter if he's moved in the offseason. His contract is reasonable and honestly with our bigs ability in the paint and RJ's ability to drive Miller could be deadly from the perimeter.

So, now we want Miller? I'm confused, as to whether the Nets are going to rebuild or not. There's talks about dealing Carter, so what is the point of acquiring Miller? He and Jefferson won't get the team anywhere. Then again neither will Carter, especially if the Raps game was any indication as to what we can expect from him.

yippppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so do u guys think the nets hold off on this trade, till the kidd trade goes through?

or will this happen regardless?

thoughts...

If we trade for Miller, and then trade away Jefferson for someone like...I don't know...maybe Travis Outlaw!!, I'd be a very, very, very happy man.

why not kill 4 birds with one stone lol

this was the only way that jefferson for outlaw could work out is if we took on darius miles horrendos contract
CHECK IT OUT

ESPN TRADE MACHINE

i guess takin darius miles contract wouldnt be soo bad if they sent us $3million and 1st rd pick

I don't think its a rebuild...more like a remodel.
Kidd is gonna be 35 in a month and his window is closing...however everybody else on the Nets still have large windows of oppurtunites and plenty of gas in the tank with the exception of possibly Carter(who I see us dealing this offseason)

Harris is 24
Marcus is 22
Swat is 21
Boone is 23
Nenad is 24
RJ is 27
Miller is 27
Swift is 28
Maurice Ager is 24

Carter would be are oldest player at 31

I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. Unfortunately given how much the eastern conference sucks we are going to be a playoff team...making it hard to rebuild. I think we go balls out this year and then take advantage of flexibilty this offseason. Most likely by trading Vince, RJ or both.

we will finally have that shooter we need off the bench!

mike miller is the damn man in the nba when he has open shots. i think this would push us to an elite level.

can we include devean george's expiring for lowry and warrick? that's $2.5M more off the books for memphis next year...

im pretty sure memphis wants to keep warrick, hes got a promising future there

I love the idea of getting Mike Miller, but wish we could hold onto Boki.
Boki seems like a really good person and a real team player.
He goes hard to the hole and he tries on defense, even if it results in a lot of fouls.
I think Boki appreciates the Nets giving him a real opportunity to play last year and this year and would give a "hometown" discount on resigning.
More shooters never hurts.

Throw in Diop instead of Boki, we have a good rotation of bigs already.

we can still get boki who'll be unrestricted next year if the price is right though diop is also an option because i bet he won't stay in nj and the mavs will go after him again in the offseason

We wouldn't be able to. Diop couldn't be combined in deal for 30 days. The deal would have to be Armstrong, Boki, Mags and a first for Mike Miller.

I would say lets use the MLE to sign Boki in the offseason...

Diop can only be traded by himself, if we were in fact going to trade him.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MFNetsFan @ Feb 14 2008, 04:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Diop (or George) can be included if its worked out as a 3 way trade.
That also may help (or hurt) the George situation.</div>

i like diop though...miller can do better whatever boki can do and more (rebounding) but we need diop as a "space-eater" to throw his weight around down low and take up some space for vc and rj to manuever inside like what twin used to do before albeit in slow motion...

Actually... take out Magloire and send Stackhouse and George to Memphis along with the Dallas cash and some Jersey cash to buy them both out and it's done. Like this: 3 Way for Harris + Miller

Maybe include Cardinal to Dallas for Hassell. Reduces some of Memphis commitment there.

Wow. Without Miller, a spot opens up in Memphis's rotation. They might actually have to rely on George, as a starter or off the bench. Which means George would get minutes! That's a good idea!

With Navarro, Gay, Crittenton, Jacobsen, and Warrick I think they are set at the 2 & 3. The thing that could get it done is George gets bought out and can sign with any team he wants. Lakers maybe?

Ah, but Rudy Gay plays small forward, Crittenton is a point guard, Jacobsen doesn't play, and Hakim Warrick plays PF.

So that reduces the SG spot to Navarro and Crittenton to split the minutes...and Gay to spend most of the time at SF....and about 30 mpg to replace, from giving Miller. Critt, Navarro, and George could split those minutes at the 2, and George could possibly get minutes at the 3, too...could work.

It makes sense for both parties.

Gay and Warrick at the 3 (Warrick should play there). At the 2, Crittenton is a combo guard, not a true point and Navarro with the occasional Jacobsen.

The whole idea was to get George to want the trade so he could be bought-out and go wherever he wants. That's why we send cash. If it was about playing time George could come to NJ.

Yeah I wasn't sure if you knew the real proposal...these three way trade ideas get out of hand.

I wish the Nets could have made a move on a guy like Mike Miller two years ago, when we were in desperate need of bench players.
