Nets Work Out Kid PG

The only way that Rod Thorn really has interest in this kid is if the rumors are true that he is trying to acquire another 1st round pick in this years draft, but other then that I cant see Thorn drafting a high school understudy for Kidd this year. I dont know much about this kid honestly but Rod & Ed need to focus on the plan, which is trying to acquire big bodies who stand a chance of having a productive impact immediately.

I think that the Nets should wait about two more years before looking for a young point guard to replace Kidd. Kidd has five years on his contract left, and I do not think that any point guard will be a starter during those years. I think that five years (minimum) is too long for a player to warm the bench. Two to three years is much more plausible.

The Nets need big guys and need then now. I do not quite understand thier logic in looking point guards. I am sure that they know what they are doing and that they will build a winning team by training camp, but I personally would approach this draft a bit differently.

It puts a smile on my face to know that Kidd in is working out, even before the NBA season is over. His dedication presents a positive example to his teammates, and it should trickle down to them working hard on thier game as well. Kidd's work ethic is one of the main aspects that makes me believe that he is the best point guard in the leage.

Three years might be a bit to long to way...Kidd does have I think two or three very produictive years left in him. But Iam not for sure that he will be that good by the time the 5 years left in his contract are up. And you want a young pg here, who can have time to learn behind Kidd for sometime before you hand the team over to them...I think if the frontcourt problems get fixed up a bit this year thru the draft & hopefully the signing of a free Agent big, then next years draft is when the Nets & Rod Thorn can start looking at guys that can be Kidd's understudy. But as of right now, I can live with Jacque Vaughn as the backup(I personally want Travis Best to return as well), and use this years offseason as focusing on acquiring a bigman as or goal. And once that problem gets solved hopefully, a cheap shooter lands in Jersey before the offseason is done.

I say go for the big bodies one in draft and one on free agency. And start looking for prospects for a replacment for kidd. If we did draft a young player it would give him a chance to be behind Kidd (he can learn how to pass from him) and Best (he can learn how to shoot from him). But i will be happy with what ever their decision is it is all for the good of the team

They said when Kidd was recovering from offseason Knee Surgery last year that part of his rehab was spent working on his jumpshot. And honeslt once he return his range pretty much still looked the same in my opinion, for the 1st 10 games maybe he shot the ball well from three(but it was a bit of a gift and a curse, cause when Kidd first came back, he lived at the three). But after the first 10 games, it went back to the same old Kidd with the jumpshot. So I dont know if Kidd's jumpshot will ever gain any consistency, actually from my stand point it is getting worst. At least before you could say that Kidd makes most of the long range jumpers when they really matter during the big situations of the playoffs, but the last two postseason series especially that has been the case. He was horrible against Detriot shooting the basketball in the 04' postseason. And he was horrible this year vs Maimi in the 1st round shooting the basketball.

The key is not getting Kidd to shoot better, but to find a good shooter for him to pass to.

damn, i wish we hear that carter starts working out EARLY... Kidd is showing "leadership by example".. also, krstic adding sum weight and additional efficiency of mid range jumper will be good..
