...there's plenty of room for compromise, so they'd better get serious and get this thing done.

Another event where lawyers control the proceedings......and again they didn't
earn one cent.

...I think it's the players this time who will be mostly to blame if there's a lockout or strike.

factually, i agree the honus is on the players. however in the present social climate, we all know the owners, perceived as 'richer', would get the blame. only in american sports can you have the general public take the sides of a bunch of whiny millionaires. While all players are in the million+/yr ranks, with the league minimum wage (can we actually use that term here?) at $507,500 (2016 season) that makes them all 1%ers.

...Tony Clark is trying to replace somewhat of a legend in the late Michael Weiner and this is his first AB in CBA negotiations ...IMO, if there's lockout or a prolonged strike, Clark will be blamed.

Good insight. Is Clark the first former player as ExDir of MLBPA? You would expect a serious attorney in the role.

Joel Sherman was sweating on this issue a week ago, he was rather disturbed, but claimed this won't be a strike, since the Commish is new, and Exec Dir. Tony Clark would not wan't this to tarnish their fresh legacy....

I thought Sherman was going to have a stroke, simply reporting on the issue...

Joel Sherman, another one of the many reasons that I don't follow MLB Network anymore, Quick Pitch excepted. Imagine Sherman, Brian Kenny, and Eric Burns on the same broadcast??????????
