<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After failing for the fifth time this season to earn a third straight road win, the New Jersey Nets get a chance to regain their footing Saturday night in an arena where they usually play well.
The Nets look to remain undefeated on the road all-time against the Charlotte Bobcats when the teams conclude their season series.
New Jersey (31-38) failed to win its third in a row away from home Friday night, losing 90-82 to Orlando in a matchup of two teams competing for the final Eastern Conference playoff spots.
With their second consecutive defeat overall, the Nets fell to ninth place in the East -- one-half game behind the Magic and Indiana, which beat Miami on Friday. They have lost eight of their last 11 games.
"We are not discouraged," said point guard Jason Kidd, who had eight points, nine assists and eight rebounds for New Jersey. "There are 13 games left and we have to try and win as many as we can, and come April 19 we will see where we stand."
A Wednesday matchup with the Pacers awaits the Nets after their meeting with Charlotte (26-44), which has lost all five home games in its three-year franchise history against New Jersey.
Vince Carter had 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists Friday for the Nets, who shot only 34.5 percent from the field. They are shooting 39.0 percent while losing three of their last four games.
Richard Jefferson added 19 points. He only scored nine points in New Jersey's 92-85 win over Charlotte on Jan. 17, although he's averaging 24.8 in eight career games versus the Bobcats -- the only team against which he averages 20 or more.
Charlotte remains one win away from surpassing its victory total from last season after falling 106-97 on Friday to a Philadelphia team that was without leading scorer Andre Iguodala. The Bobcats went 18-64 in their inaugural season of 2004-05, and 26-56 a season ago.
"We're playing well and we'll keep playing hard and try to get to 30 wins," said Charlotte rookie forward Adam Morrison, who had 10 points. "We won't stop working hard."
Gerald Wallace scored 21 and Walter Herrmann added 17 off the bench to lead the Bobcats, who failed to win their third straight game.
Morrison, the third overall selection in last year's draft, is averaging 7.0 points while shooting 30.8 percent from the field in his last seven games -- well below his season marks of 12.4 points per game and 37.6 percent field-goal shooting.
Wallace, meanwhile, continues to pace Charlotte with starting frontcourt player Emeka Okafor nursing a strained calf that has caused him to miss the last 14 games. Wallace is averaging 20.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in his last 19 games.
The Bobcats have won three of their last four home games. </div>

Sorry guys, no formal preview. Just came home from somewhere and I'm dead tired.
