This looked terrible. Costco lighting but still bad.
Go big. ...
I would recommend a Panasonic Viera plasma if you can still find one; they stopped making them after last year, but they truly were the best TV out there. They have huge drawbacks in weight and heat (lots of both), but the pictures is fan-fucking-tastic.
Any Panasonic plasma is going to be ridiculous. You can't fine them in stores anymore. They have them on Amazon, but they were like 3-5k because they are out of production. I might as well get a 4k TV at that price.
That was my initial thought but the words on screen looked fuzzy compared to other tvs with the same feed. Brightness issues I expected, but fuzzy logos aren't what I think of as something calibration will fix. I was close to all of them, so your viewing distance makes a difference I suppose. A 5 inch change to 60 shouldn't be too much of a shock. We went from 50 to a 60 plasma I returned and then got a 55 inch panasonic led and we are fine. That's the one I saw. It didn't look great to me either, but then I saw the same one at Best Buy and it looked much better. It's hard the gauge when a lot of time they don't do any calibration on the TV's.
How about this?

I would also check the model numbers closely. I recall the big box stores models being slightly different. My Panasonic doesn't have game mode, but the best buy equivalent does. I never intended to game on it or I would have taken it back tooThat's the one I saw. It didn't look great to me either, but then I saw the same one at Best Buy and it looked much better. ^ Can't go wrong with a Sony as well. Them and Samsung are above and beyond.
Vizio TV's are still the best bang you can get for the cost of the TV though.
Are they free, because the 10 percent savings doesn't seem worth buying an inferior tv. I don't read up on them anymore and statistics might prove me wrong but I have had 6 or 7 samsungs and panasonics over the last ten years and have never had a problem with any of them other than samsung plasma buzz.Vizio TV's are still the best bang you can get for the cost of the TV though.
Where are you located? I have a slightly used one I would part with for much cheaper than that. As much as I love it, I don't hardly watch movies on it anymore, so I might as well get a TV that doesn't set off my AC all the time.

Oh, that reminds me. If your room is smallish, I wonder about the buzz of Samsung plasmas. I haven't read up on the latest models but that is why I returned the 60...buzzzzzzz That was probably 2 years ago.

How are LG tvs?
They say you can't see the full 4K if you're more than 5 or 6 feet away from a 65" screen. However, it will look better than 1080P. I tested this in a Sony store today, in fact. That is, you won't see 4K resolution from 10 ft, but you will see it look like something in between 1080P and 4K. 2K, call it, or even 3K.
I've read that the curved displays offer zero in terms of functionality. In fact, they say if there's glare, it makes it worse.
This one gets pretty good reviews:

I looked at a 4 K Samsung 65 inch curved screen in Costco yesterday and if I would have had a spare $2800 [on sale] it'd be hanging on my wall right now. Amazing!Thx for that link.
I thought 4K were about 5,000. Your link shows one for about half that price. I'm getting my new TV in about 2-3 months, maybe if they drop to 2,000 range I pick one up.
Bodyman . . . what do you think about the Samsung UN65HU8550 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV

Check out Avforums for user reviews on anything you're considering. They convinced me to snag the Panasonic Viera plasma last time I bought and still have no regrets.
