PG: Marbury is coming off a streak in a little streak where he is averaging 30+ points. I don?t know if Maurice Williams will be able to stop him. Marbury has been on a tear and he had 32 points on Monday. Quite frankly, he has been unstoppable as of late. The only thing which I don?t want to happen is Marbury score 30 and allow 30. What is purpose of scoring 30 and give up 30 to your opponent? It?s like you never scored at all because it cancels out each other. I guess he did an alright job on Iverson because he only had 7 second half points. Marbury is 100% capable of playing great defense he just plays defense when he feels like it. Maybe with a minute left in the game, or maybe not even. We need Marbury to play to his full potential which he hasn?t been doing this season. Williams will make you pay if you provoke him and play that loosey-goosy nonchalant defense that the Knicks tend to play all the time.
vs.
Michael Redd may not play tonight. He has a sprained index finger which is crucial especially for someone who does what he does?shoot. Last time that weak perimeter defense of the Knicks cost them the game. As the Knicks were making a comeback, I believe they were down by a couple and Redd made an uncontested 3 to put Milwaukee up for good. Now that Redd is possibly injured and even if he does play, he will not be mentally ready. Crawford needs to take advantage of that and don?t settle for jumpers. That?s just common sense and if you notice every single preview I write that. When will he learn? Last time he mixed up his game, he had 40 points.
vs.
SF: We shouldn?t even be seeing this matchup We should have my son Trevor Ariza in the lineup. Was that game winner that special? It was type lucky. It hit the rim hit high off the backboard and kind of dropped in. Does this mean that double T is clutch? Whoever thinks that shame on you. Hopefully he plays defense on Desmond Mason. Last time he killed us with his deadly first step. With the Knicks already at the bottom of the league, the last thing we need is Desmond to posterize one of us. He was the slam dunk champ, what do you expect. He has good defense and runs the floor very well. That means our transitional defense needs to be good today. I can see Tim Thomas just throwing a silly pass, Mason stealing doing a windmill, Knicks get booed. Let?s keep our fingers crossed and hope that Tiny Tim plays decent basketball.
vs.
PF: Joe Smith and Kurt Thomas are in a matchup. The thing Kurt Thomas can not forget is Joe Smith?s midrange jumpshot. Just like him, he thrives off of the midrange jumper. The thing I am worried about is Kurt Thomas having to clean up after the perimeters messes. If he plays that nice low post defense that we are all used to seeing from him we can win. Hopefully he shows us a better game from yesterday when he made that blunder and literally gift wrapping the win for the Sixers. Kurt Thomas can thrive off the midrange jumper from Starbury easy. We don?t really need him to score. Just like most games all we need is a little bit of heart, some effort, and a lot of defense. Let?s see what happens between them.
vs.
C: The last time we played him I remember him giving us a hard time on the boards. I think it?s simply because his name sounds funny. The Knicks are known for playing with effort when some big shot guy walks into town but, when the less talented but very capable athletes come by, they are no where to be found. We might very well get killed in this matchup. Nazr Mohammed, who suffered from a groin injury so sever he missed a point blank layup, definitely has quite a match tonight. Gadzuric is a monster on the boards plain and simple. He averages 20 minutes a game and check this out: He averages 8 boards a game. If he got more burn I think he can very well lead the league in rebounding. Herb must enforce crashing the boards tonight against the Bucks. Hopefully Baker doesn?t look as drunk as he did on other days and maybe Sundov can provide a little touch from the outside. Either way I know this is our toughest matchup hands down.
<font size="3"><font color="DarkOrange">Knicks Bench Summary</font></font>
Now with our only defensive guy out, we need everyone to chip in. Jamison Brewr is a great defender who doesn?t look to take bad shots in fact, he doesn?t look to shoot at all, lol. We need Hardaway and the rest of the guys to step up. Last time we hosted Milwaukee Sweetney was killing. He should always get fed on every possession because chances are he?ll make the shot or get fouled. Trevor Ariza who played poorly last meeting between these two, will probably try and make more of an impact in the game. Look for the bench to come out strong today though. I think that will be a bright spot for us.
<font size="3"><font color="Indigo">Bucks Bench Summary:</font></font>
The Bucks are obviously short handed if Redd decides to sit this game out again. They do have defensive minded point guard Mike James who is also capable of shooting the 3 as well. Also former Knick Keith Van Horn is making an appearance. I think Keith will try to show us we should?ve never traded him (I agree). He shoots 40% from the 3 and with lackluster defense from Tim Thomas, it?s like Van Horn is open. JYD needs to be big in this game to guard Van Horn. He has been recovering from an injury though and is only getting about 26 minutes a game which is far from his usual. Will Milwaukee play him more?
<font size="4"><font color="Green">Key Matchup:</font></font>

?Starbury?

?Mo? Will?
This really shouldn?t be the key matchup because I don?t know whether Redd is playing or not. Anyway, Marbury?s defense must be key. Once you take out the floor general, you take out the team. He distributes the ball and he gets everyone involved. If Marbury plays no defense the Bucks play will automatically increase creating havoc for the Knicks at all positions. If Williams gets hot because of no defense we can easily lose this one at home.
<font size="4">My Prediction:</font>
I simply can?t see us losing a game to the Bucks and going on a losing streak before the All-Star break. I also think the fact we lost the last one and are playing at home is being preached through the hard headed skull of the Knicks. Anyway, since Redd is most likely out I?m taking us by the score of 105-98. We really should win this game regardless. It?s one of those season determiners. Most of us Knick fans have already determined our fate?the lottery but losing this game will automatically eliminate every shred of hope that was even available. Come on Knicks, at least give us something to cheer about.
